Zanu-PF War Veterans and Youth Militias in the Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe have vowed to disturb distribution of food aid if Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO’s) carries out the activity without Zanu-PF members present.

Sources have revealed that Joshua Sako, the Zanu-PF Youth League Secretary for External Affairs, told a council meeting in Chimanimani that his party must be involved in aid distribution. Jonga Kandemiiri of VOA News states that several War Veterans in Makoni district have threatened organisations which help the less privileged for not involving Zanu-PF members in their operations.

Last year many Zimbabweans were killed and others had their houses destroyed form supporting the opposition party, the MDC. (Source: VOA/Agencies) (ZimEye, Zimbabwe)
