MDC MP dies in mysterious car accident thumbnail

Harare(ZimEye)An MDC-T legislator has died in a mysterious accident that has left the entire MDC leadership shocked and devastated.

John Nyamande(pictured-in green-brown jersey), who was the legislator for Makoni Central died in the early hours of today(Saturday) when the twin cab he was driving hit an unidentified truck stationary in the middle of the highway along Rusape-Harare road in Ruwa.

He was 57.

Just like Tongogara’s death

Nyamande died on the spot and was driving alone, dying in exactly the same way legendary ZANLA army commander, Josiah Tongogara died in 1979 who differed with Mugabe over a government of unity with Joshua Nkomo and his ZAPU party. Just six days after the Lancaster House agreement, Mugabe announced the tragic death of Tongogara between Maputo and Chimoio on his way to Zimbabwe when his vehicle rammed into a stationery army truck, which was by the side of the road.

Nyamande’s accident happened near Thorncroft school in Ruwa. His death also happened just hours after MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai announced that he is returning to government, amidst a spate of hateful mockery from Robert Mugabe.

MDC still unsure

Speaking to the ZimEye, MDC-UK chairman Jonathan Chawora, confirmed: “Its very sad, this is what has happened. Details are still trickling in and the so party has yet come up with an informed opinion on the death ”

Mrs Irene Sanyauke a close relative who is now comforting Mr Nyamande’s widow in Britain, said the family was shocked by the news of Nyamande’s mysterious death.

“As for now we only know that he hit a car which was stationary on the middle of the highway. He was coming from Rusape and the accident happened in Ruwa early today,” said Mrs Sanyauke.

Bravery return to Zimbabwe

Nyamande will be remembered for his decision he took to return to Zimbabwe at the height of political violence during the March 2008 elections. When he returned, he beat Mugabe’s most feared henchman Patrick Chinamasa.

This was at a time when Zimbabwe was largely regarded as one of the most unstable and dangerous countries of the world.

Many enemies of Robert Mugabe have died in similar ways as Nyamande.  (ZimEye, Zimbabwe)

What made it worse for me was that I come from the same home area of Rusape in Zimbabwe and it is a very sad loss for us .Nyamande will be remembered for his bravey and dedication in his quest to bring democracy to Zimbabwe. Our prayers are with the whole Nyamande family at this most difficult hour especially the widow with us in Britain. Our deep and heartfelt condolences go to her and the rest of her family.

What else did people from zanu. at least some know it better because they are prodigal sons. The sons of the soil will be avenged if you know what I mean. It is unfortunate that some hands are as bloody as zanu if the truth be told. Anyone care to remember the slogan ‘bulala amadissident’ now the hen is feeding on its eggs. what a shame.

Chris Hani, what are you failing to say? Are you not mixing issues here? Did MDC ever “bulala amadissident” at all? Why does the tribal card always pop up with some of you guys even when it is irrelevant?

Chris Hani must have been a dissident himself. No feeling, and no sense in his brains – You are a disgrace to the Ndebele tribe!

do we need someone from mars to come and tell us that rwavhi is killing politicians via accidents, i wonder? outspoken sydney malunga died when driver was avoiding a dog, zororo duri died on the eve of going to cuba as ambassador, tongo just before independence, chitepo of car bomb, tsvangi lost his wife and now its nyamande. what makes it even more painful is that rwavhi again appoints commissions to investigate at the taxpayer’s expense and the results are never made public meaning that he is the killer and obvious haungazvinange uroyi.

as long as pple do not become bold enough to stand up against rwavhi, he will continue to kill the 30 year-old till his is 95.his own advisers should advise him that the mdc is now an in thing and a buzzword such that killing its supporters will amount to another genocide reminiscent of the 1980s in matebeleland.

There are too many of us to kill such that zanupf will die whilst still in the process of killing us. after that we will celebrate true independence and we will decide who will be our leaders and we will prosper like the hated west. and no leader will rule for 30 years nomatter how good he might believe he is. our politicians will be accountable to us. those defeated i elections will not be in gvt by any backdoor plan and obviously mbeki willo not be there. and never again will the reserve bank be operated like a rural tuckshop. ofcourse there will be places for pple like gono, that is chikurubi maximum prison, hwahwa prison, mutimurefu, and mutare prison farm etc etc
