Abductions Mukoko Morgan Tsvangirai Injuries ZAPU ZANU PF army killingsPublished: November 11, 2009
Harare(ZimEye)It could be a scene from a horror movie: a predatory prison doctor doing his best to inflict as much suffering as he can on helpless inmates.
Some he orders removed from life support systems at private hospitals to be thrown into filthy cells. Others he denies treatment from severe injuries inflicted by ruthless state security agents of a brutal dictator.
To add a ‘romantic’ touch to the drama, the doctor in question is the husband of a stunning TV health reporter who often covers stories about saving lives.
At the centre of the drama is a high-profile prisoner closely connected to the country’s prime minister’s transport logistics, abducted at gun-point.
Fiction?
This is the true-life drama playing out in the case of Pasco Gwezere, the Movement for Democratic Change transport manager surreptitiously torn away from his wife and family in Mufakose recently and brutally tortured for days.
Dr Dhobhi, the Harare remand prison doctor and husband of well-known ZBC-TV health correspondent Rugare Dhobhi has earned himself the title of ‘Dr Death’.
Harare magistrate Archie Wochiunga has ordered several times that Gwezere be given treatment over the past few weeks. Dhobhi ignored the instructions until Gwezere’s lawyer Alec Muchadehama demanded that his client be treated by private doctors.
Even then, ‘Dr Death’ insisted that prison doctors should be present during the consultations.
The lawyer said the prison officials wanted to prevent evidence of brutal torture from being publicized.
Gwezere will appear in court on Wednesday (Nov.11) charged with stealing 21 guns from the heavily guarded Pomona Barracks in Harare. He says he is being framed.(ZimEye, Zimbabwe)

Mr. Xolani if you have no better comments to make, please shut up. Read the article again and you will notice that the Dr’s name is not what you are calling him. Khula.
