As Mugabe is allowed to float, Gono to be stripped thumbnail

Analysis(ZimEye) As President Robert Mugabe was on the weekend handed a mortal lifeline to stay on heading ZANU PF for another 6 years, his personal financier and Reserve Governor, Gideon Gono was on Wednesday set to receive a historic bill of legislation prepared to strip major powers from off his shoulders.

The bill passed Wednesday is set to reform the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe for the first time following a last-minute deal struck by the majority Movement for Democratic Change and Mugabe’s former dominating party, ZANU-PF. According to sources, the deal which in theory means that Gono will no longer have powers to abuse or divert funds as he used to, was brokered by MDC-T commissar Innocent Gonese and ZANU-PF lawmakers Paul Mangwana and Mabel Chinomona.

However, it is reported that Bill readings halted Tuesday after ZANU-PF demanded amendments, but on Wednesday was fast-tracked to a vote sending it to a final debate in the Senate to be held in early December.

President Robert Mugabe, who has relied on Gono for both personal and party financing, now at age 85, was given the mortal lifeline hopeful by his ZANU PF party, that he shall contest in the coming Presidential election due in a few month’s time. Many ZANU PF members who include longe serving heavyweight, Daniel Shumba have pulled out of the party in protest over the way in which the party still holds onto an old and frail Mugabe(ZimEye, Zimbabwe)

saka maggie dongo was correct 15 years when he said all those mutasa, mnangagwas are rwavhi’s wives. how on earth can sane people allow a senile geriatric another 6 years in power? anyway these goons have already have been defeated by mdc and history tells us that if a ruling party loses elections in africa, it will never come back again- unip, mcp, kanu…

what makes us happy is that gono will not do with our treasures as he pleases. this is how zanu pf is falling. they are comforting themselves thinking that they still hold control to power. lets take the economy first and then the politics will come. mugabe will never again rule zimbabwe outside the gnu. long live honourable memebrs of the MDC long live
