Bulawayo (ZimEye) – The Movement for Democratic Change will meet on January 18, to chat the way forward concerning the party’s participation in the all-inclusive Government as well as the humanitarian crisis.

The party met in Johannesburg South Africa between Wednesday and Friday but details of he meeting remained shrouded in secrecy.

In a statement released by the MDC spokesman, Nelson Chamisa, the meeting would discuss the humanitarian crisis gripping Zimbabwe.

“The issues to be discussed include the desperate humanitarian situation characterised by massive starvation in the country and the
abductions and arbitrary arrests of party and civic activists on
trumped-up charges. The executive will also discuss the state and status of the SADC-brokered negotiated political settlement.”

“Over seven million people are surviving on food aid while virtually
every Zimbabwean is struggling to survive in a dollarised economy.”

Chamisa said the meeting came against a background of a collapse of the health, education and economic systems.

Once a prosperous nation, Zimbabwe has the worst performing economies in the world with inflation rate estimated at 500 quintillion by independent financial institutions.
