Nottingham UK- Thousands of people flooded  Nottingham for  John Nyamande Charity Run on Sunday morning with 2hrs 53 minutes being the record time clocked by the winning contestant.

Organised by the Nyamande family, the non political event managed to raise 600 pounds to be used to develop impoverished areas of Manicaland where the late Nyamande served as MP.

Speaking to ZimEye, the late MP Nyamande’s son, Kudzai expressed satisfaction to the event, the first  of its kind which attracted scores of participants from and around Nottingham and Derby towns.

“It was quite a ‘treacherous’ run… but it was worth the while, worth the cause..,” Kudzai said also clarifying recent reports saying it was to be a walk.
