Even Mugabe is getting US$100-Tsvangirai thumbnail

Harare (ZimEye)-PRESDENT Mugabe is also getting a US$100 allowance per month as his salary since the Government is so broke that it is paying a uniform salary structure from the lowest grade to the highest civil servant.

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai told workers on Wednesday in Harare to mark Workers Day celebrations that as of now the Government was operating on a hamstring and was unable to review the salaries of the civil servants.

“The inclusive Government is still new, but we would like our workers to get proper salaries. We are currently paying allowances. All people in Government, including President Mugabe, are getting US$100.”

Since its formation the new Government has been paying a flat US$100 to all civil servants regardless of position.

Tsvangirai said the Government was only raising money through local taxi as there has not been any donor who has come up to support with money.

The Government has been going around the world begging financial institutions and countries to chip in with money to support the Government.

More than US$5 billion is required to kick-start the economy.

Teachers, who form the bulk of the civil servants, have however vowed that they will not return to work on Tuesday if the Government does not review their salaries.

Tsvangirai said however there were some positive signs on how the new Government has managed to work so far.

“A Government is not easy, especially when we are coming from different parties, but we are working together quite well to bring peace and economic stability. (ZimEye, Zimbabwe)

It’s somehow funny that civil servants have to be patient as their allowances par with that of Mugabe. History has it that Zimbabwean civil servants were the most suffering for the whole dacade since Mugabe was engaged in extravagant shopping sprees around the globe. Therefore, there nothing serious…

Bruce went to the University of Dreambabwe where he learnt Political Science under ‘reputable’ professors who live at the back of his mind!

Bruce, you are totally senseless! Do you really have a PHD? Which universities did you attend?

Paying Mugabe and his cronies $100.00 [USA dollars] a month does not bring them to the level of the suffering of the unemployed in a crisis of 94% unemployed. Nor does it bring the to the lower level of those who are paid frozen colonial wages. During so-called healthy economic days…the majority of Zimbabwean workers were confined to plantation capitalism…a slave capitalism Africanized by ZANU-PF.
Mugabe is ranked the eleventh richest African on the continent…he has his account in some Asian countries…this is where most of Zimbabwe’s foreign exchange goes to….Before the crisis of today’s mass unemployment in Zimbabwe, most of those employed Africans were confiden and limited to slave-wages because independent Zimbabwe perpetuated the colonial plantation capitalism and the plantation capitalism remains today for ordinary workers who are not numbered among those getting $100.00 a month…
We need a small cabinet with members who own their own personal cars, who have one medium house and one small farm..not the regime we have today..which is loaded with multi-millionaires, who own most pf the land taken from white farmers,…we need a president with the economic concern and simplicity of a Thomas Sankara…

After a 30 year party you are likely to have a serious hangover. This 100 bucks a month is good for the civil service. It will bring things back to sobriety. An eagle eye must be kept on those with atendency for dipping their hands in the till or charging their personal expenses to government accounts. Close monitoring and audit of budget and accounts will seperate the “evil servents” from the “civil servents”. In due cause we will be able to adequately pay our civil servants and jail the evil servants.

    Serpent,

Other than calling me a ‘witch doctor’ and a slave, you’ve yet to even attempt a legitimate debate. As I am neither a
‘witchdoctor’ or a ’slave’, I still await your attempt at a debate.

Thus far, I see a few words of wisdom, obfuscated by volumes of useless garbage issuing from your keyboard.

American’s have a saying…. “Put up, or shut up”. Thus far you’ve certainly avoiding putting up.

    In friendship, as always,

    M. T. Levi Greer, Ph. D.
