Mugabe and Tsvangirai rule out probe into ZANU PF violence thumbnail

(HARARE-ZimEye)Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe and his deputy, Morgan Tsvangirai have ruled out a probe into the causes of the violent disruptions which took place today(Monday), and made to close a parliamentary meeting set for the drafting of a new constitution for Zimbabwe.

However, one of the councillors, Gilson Chitakunye, sustained serious head injuries after he was brutally assaulted by the Zanu-PF thugs who were also openly filmed on camera.

“The question of whoever orchestrated that disruption is neither here nor there. We need to move forward for the benefit of the people. Let us put national interests above partisan interests,” Tsvangirai said.

On the other hand President Mugabe would say “We are here to say that we will not brook any further disturbances in the future. We must have this constitution done. ‘It’s a necessity,” Mugabe said, speaking to journalists just after the  disruption of the parliamentary meeting.

The conference is part of a process which should lead to the adoption of a new national constitution and fresh elections in about two years. (ZimEye, Zimbabwe)

    Is this true?

This is utterly irresponsible, for Tsvangirai to ignore a criminal act too obvious like that.

I think we need another Prime Minister and MDC leader who has some comon sense

Honestly I dont trust Tsvangirai nomore. Rubbing shoulders with Gabriel has made him a ZANU PF disciple. How can he say the question of who perpetrated violence is neither here nor there? Zimbabweans, open your eyes! Tsvangirai has betrayed the struggle already! I cant bliv this is the Tsvangirai i once voted. Morgan u’r openly condoning the barbaric behaviour 4rm the war vegetarians!

mugabe and tsvangirai are good leaders and they are not there to destroy,so they made a good thing by not rushing to make unnessesary ruling or comments regarding the disruption,do not blame Tsvangirai, he knows what he is doing.

this is total nonsense. MDC = ZANU PF. zimbabwe needs an opposition party. that actually opposes this nonsense.
Tsvangirai is now a lame duck & will be held to account by the electorate.

Tsvangirai is doing WHAT IS BEST for the nation NOT for his party. He has the nation at heart, knowing also that those criminals are difficult to handle. The most crucial thing right now is to get Mugabe to pass a new constitution, afterwards we shall all be singing songs of joy, mark my words.

At that time, even Simba Makoni will have ability to contest in a new election freely and without crookery.

I think we need to give Tsvangirai a chance guys. Why do we want division? Zimbabwe will never be restored until we unite

Both leaders are right. What those thugs want is ti divert attention. Those people just need to be ignored for the sake of progress otherwise Zim will become ungovernable. I tell u those thugs cannot derail the will of the people no matter what they do. Those who live by the sword will die by sword.

Hey Zvirwadza BUT Mugabe is NOT SINCERE AT ALL! Are you forgetting that?

He once said that Tsvangirai will never rule this country.

It does not make any sense for the leaders to look at who caused the disturbances, because that does not take anywhere. What we need is the constitution to be drafted. Blamming Tsvanirai does not help anyone. We must remain focused get the constitution.

Could someone tell me who is incharge in Zimbabwe? Is it the militias which is an extention of ZANU or the inclusive government? As of Tsvangirai he is prone to political mistakes and siding with Mugabe is one of them-it is not the first neither is it the last.
