Zimbabwe’s rising superstar actor and dancer Siphephiso Pepsie Magonya of IYASA, Zimbabwe’s multi award winning performing arts school for youths scooped Zimbabwe Nama ‘s 2013 award for outstanding female dancer of Zimbabwe.
“Our very own Pepsie Magonya is Zimbabwe Nama ‘s outstanding female dancer of Zimbabwe . Thank you Zimbabwe , thank you Bulawayo , Iyasa,promoters across the world ! Fans , family and the power above! I am proud,” said Iyasa director Innocent Nkululeko Dube congratulating one of his succesful performing artist.
Pepsie who is inspired by one of Africa’s biggest household names Leleti Khumalo has her eyes set on building a house hold name for herself.
“Being an artist was always my dream. I started performing at Mpopoma High School in Bulawayo. I was inspired by South African actress Lelethi Khumalo popularly known as SARAFINA.”
IYASA based in Bulawayo is Zimbabwe’s multi award winning performing arts school for youths established in 2001 to support and promote the best interests of young musicians, dancers, actors and poets.
It has since expanded to be a resource centre for most established and upcoming artistes, especially actors,musicians, singers and dancers.
IYASA has become a household name in Zimbabwe and also established themselves into an internationally recognized organization and ambassadors of African performing arts through projects and performances locally, regionally and internationally.
These include U.S.A, Austria, Germany, Serbia, Czech Republic, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Zambia, Malawi, Slovakia, and U.K , Japan, Mexico, Montenegro, Lichtenstein and Croatia among others.
