Abductions Mukoko Morgan Tsvangirai Injuries ZAPU ZANU PF army killingsPublished: August 30, 2009
(HARARE)South African President Jacob Zuma brought fresh hope to Zimbabwe’s democratic movement, Saturday in a keynote message to the nation.
Speaking at the opening of Harare’s agricultural annual showcase, Zuma said that Zimbabwe’s government must respect property rights and prioritise food security above all else. The MDC party described his words as ‘refreshing’ and ‘unequivocal’.
However the state owned ZimPapers ran a few frontpage articles claiming that Zuma did not criticise Mugabe. Zuma goes down in history as the first South African black president to condemn ZANU PF’s chaotic land reform programme. (ZimEye, Zimbabwe)
