Below are photos from the car crash in which one of ZIMBABWE’s top soccer legends Adam Ndlovu died, and his brother Peter was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At the time of writing it was reported that the two brothers had been in Peter’s BMW X5 at the time of the accident and in the photos Peter’s BMW is seen in an almost virtually written off state.
It is reported that Adam had survived and only died after arriving at the Victoria Falls hospital where his brother Peter is now hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit.
On Sunday efforts were being attempted by Ndlovu’s family to get Peter airlifted from Victoria Falls to Bulawayo due to concerns that the hospital in Victoria Falls does not have facilities capable of handling critical care.
Adam was Chicken Inn’s coach at the time of his death.
Chicken Inn secretary-general Tavengwa Hara spoke of the tragic news saying his team had suffered a terrible loss.
“Yes, I can confirm that sadly we have lost our coach in a car accident this morning [Sunday],” he told another online publication.
Another onlilne portal quoted a friend of Adam recollecting how the accident occured:
“Adam died early this morning when their vehicle veered off the road after a tyre burst and hit a tree 20 km from Victoria Falls. He died on arrival at hospital .Peter is in critical condition and he is at Victoria Falls hospital in Intensive Care Unit. But arrangements still being made to transfer from there to a hospital in Bulawayo or Harare,” Bhebhe reprotedly said.
