The London based anti-Robert Mugabe activist Martin Chinyanga has plans to sue a British pub, Yates following an incident he alleges subjected him to racial ill-treatment. That was after he was ‘physically manhandled’ and busted away from a London pub by security men at the weekend.
A visibly emotionally-charged up Chinyanga who attempted to enter the Yates pub in London’s Leicester Square, was denied entry by bouncers according to a released video footage covering an incident in which he says he was physically assaulted.
He maintains that it was because of his skin colour that he was denied entry and he is going to sue for discrimination.
Three other black people in the footage are seen alleging they were also denied entry. One of the women is heard asking, ‘why is he shouting?’ as Chinyanga emotionally and repeatedly screamed at bouncer guards at the pub’s doors.
He has admitted to a police fine of £80 for public disorder after he shouted the word ‘stupid’ in anger even at one of the alleged victims. Chinyanga however said he will be pursuing charges of racism ‘since several other black-skinned people were also denied entry’: “The British Government is allowing white supremacists and apartheid(sic) in their streets, by not understanding(sic) the meaning of racism….” says Chinyanga who has appealed to the mayor of London.

It is quite a shame on both sides of the divide for a Zimbabwean to be that drunk and disorderly in a public place. Just watching the video tells you the guy was drunk way over any imaginable limit. I have been to pubs up and down the British country, as long as you mind your own business, space, language and are spending your own cash, the British will let you be. However whether black or white, if you are perceived to be a nuisance, or a possible cause for trouble, believe you me, they throw you out. Secondly he was playing to the gallery, and that was perceived as anti-social behaviour. Thirdly his English language made a mockery of the British language. Had his colleagues herded him home at the first refusal, he would not have had the wrath of the British Police and the ensuing £80.00 fine. He got what he deserved! Period. Such people should drink in their quarters and save us all Zimbabweans of all persuasions the shame and embarrassment of being Zimbabweans in a foreign country. INSTEAD I WAS CHUCKED OFF THE AREA AND THE I-PAD WAS LEFT IN THE SHOP AND NO REFUND WAS GIVEN.
