MDC-T To Expel Defiant Members On Underwriting Fees

Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC faction announced Saturday its intention to expel members who refuse to pay the newly announced mandatory Underwriting Fees by the end of April 2014.
The party’s new deputy treasurer who replaced Elton Mangoma, Tapiwa Mashakada, told ZimEye any member who refuses to abide by the orders of paying the new underwriting fee should “find another home.”

Find another home if you don't want to pay - Mashakada
Find another home if you don’t want to pay – Mashakada

Mashakada’s comments came after members complained about the fee and the “shady” method of collecting and submitting it which they said is unconstitutional since the whole purse will not be handled by the treasury, but be sent privately and directly to Mr Tsvangirai office mostly via the Western Union money transfer service. This the members said is a violation of the constitution.
Wrote Mashakada responding to the complaints:
“The MDC – T party should rightfully be resourced by its valuable general membership. Even a burial society is membership driven.
“What is crucial is that there should be accountability and transparency in the financial affairs of the party. Bona fide MDC -T should find no problem with following the pointed direction. After all, the party is a voluntary organization. Members who do not want to be bound by the rules and decisions of the party should simply find another home. The people’s project is poised to succeed”.
“Back home people are selling goats and chickens to support their party. I doubt that anyone who is questioning the decision of the National Council is serious. However, are alive to the fact that our detractors are panicking with this new innovation as they had putatively written the epitaph of MDC – T. This party is greater than individuals. All decisions are arrived by majority decision in the party’s decision making organs. The National Council has resolved to restore full provincial executive status to all Diasporan provincial assemblies. In between Congress the National Council has the loci standing to take decisions that further the interests of the party. These decisions will be taken to the Congress for ratification. So what we are doing is very constitutional. The people’ s struggle has now entered its final and decisive phase of its trajectory to push for fresh but free fair and credible elections in Zimbabwe before 2018.

  1. MANDY, you need to be serious, sane & objective about this!!…how convenient it is that Chematama is actually faultless, were it not for the CIO!!
This head-in-the-sand ostrich mentality means that you will remain forever blaming EXTERNAL factors; so when does Tsvangison actually start taking responsibility for his actions??!!
Just to illustrate the absurdity of your thinking…were it not for the CIO, Tsvangison would not have “seen” all those many women that he was having a nice time with! Was it the CIO which undid his zippers and undressed the women for him to bed?! Why is it that he had eyes for women connected to ZPF only; asi veku-MDC vakashata here?! Was it the CIO which instructed him to assault Mangoma?! Was it the CIO which drafted a useless election manifesto for the MDC-T that featured the tasteless JUICE and the mantra of external “friends with money”?!

  2. Surely this can’t be right!!…how does a party purporting to be a DEMOCRATIC one FORCE people to pay these underwriting fees??!!
A FOOL AND HIS/HER MONEY ARE EASILY PARTED!!…ndidzo mari dzemarema dzichangodyiwa zvadzo nema”shefu”!! The common sense principle is that if you ‘extort’ money from the public like this you should also consult them on how to spend it; but will that ever happen??!!…shiri dzakangwara dzinovaka matendere adzo neminhenga yedzimwe shiri.

  5. Hey! Hooray Mashakada.. That is what is called calling a spade a spade. Jesius endured and completed his heavenly mission here on earth by :means of supporting believers, like us who leverage :MDC T hook line and sinker, the grass roots supporters. We are women and men on a mission to eradicate the rule of this oppressive oligarchal government. Never mind what they say to detract us from our progressive goal of usherimg in a democratic new Zimbabwe accepted and cherished by the determined masses. We are truelly vollunteers of a new order who are not at all pertubed by selling whatever to prop up rhe party. Tswangirayi is our tomorrow’s emancipator who should get any possible backing from us be it financial or whatever, he deserves it. It is the actual spirit of the oppressed’s resolute struggle.

  8. mandy kkkk you mean to say c.i.o’s can force tsvangirai kudya d h odhi rake here.

  9. I however urge those who are committed to change to ignore many of the negative comments about Tsvangirai and make your contribution to the party. Tsvangirai is forced by the very conditions that the regime subject him to sometimes err. Who would not develop compensatory behaviour if subjected to the same pressure as Tsvangirai is by the regime. It just surprises me that the man still returns his sanity. Any other person would have given up the struggle against the vicious system where CIO is trailing him day in day out trying to force him into errors. Tendai has just proven it when he was subjected to minimal pressure and there he was running to SAPES trust to denounce the struggle. Examples are many of people that have succumbed to this pressure from the regime. For example Mangoma also succumbed to this pressure and now thinks it is Tsvangirai who is the problem and totally forgetting that whatever errors were made they were forced errors calculated by the regime. For this reason I salute Tsvangison, chematama, teaboy for his unrelenting focus on the struggle. Indeed few would have fared better.

  10. Tapiwa Mashakada is just the wrong person to trust with anyone’s money. To start with Mashakada was part of this conspiracy to undemocratically unseat Morgan Tsvangirai. He and Tendai Biti worked worked together.
But there is more to this Tapiwa Mashakada. He plundered the engineering pension fund whilst working for them. The ZCTU was up in arms against him for doing that. He seeks political office only for the purpose of making money.
That is besides his dubious background. In 1999 he left the processes leading to the formation of the MDC and joined the Constitutional commission led by Chidyausiku only to come back surreptitiously after that commission had collapsed with the NO vote. Since then he has been cited in many reports as cooperating with the CIO or rather a person who is on their payroll.
Indeed since his first election as MP he has moved house from Hatfield to borrowdale converting his former house into a brothel.
Mashakada is also known to frequent witch doctors is pursuit of power

  11. My uncle who is about 70 insists they dumped Nkomo and his ZAPU in the sixties because he kept saying..”Nyika tauya nayo iri mu basket” but they never saw it..This was done in perpetuity until the seventies when Bishop Muzorewa came on the stage as a catalyst to speed up the change starting with the release of the detainees in 1974. Now this MDC party is starting these endless”Final push”..Now they say they are preparing for 2018 where they will be cheated again and then they will have another final push in 2023, be cheated again and another one in 2028 where they will be cheated again, only to repeat this cycle in 2033.

  13. Tapiwa shape yako tells a lot kuti you and your troops are at a feeding trough. You have become shapeless from GNU days. Now you have resorted to what the comrares did during the liberation struggle . They ate all our parents goats and chickens in the name of liberating us .
How events change. Your lips ar red now . Tsvangirai must dig deeper to pay his chain of prostitutes.

    This is sad news!

  15. Wishful thinking by a party run by bafoons. You lot should have saved the $$ you were blowing whilst in the Unity Govt actin a if you were going to remain in govt forever, siyayi vanhu nembudzi dzavo. Final push my ass, we have been hearing this never ending push for 15+ years because you lot are stupid and myopic, lacking strategy and mere chancers. Zvazowanayi zvekutungamirirwa nemarombe. Better yet ask Chamisa for money for party upkeep, he looted a couple of millions from his stint as minister too bad Chematama spent his on bed hoping.

  16. Yes MDC T members must pay these fees ASAP because Morgan is now failing to pay me. This is the reason why I have not been active on the social media, I do not have money for internet. I am still very much alive only that the hard times which have fallen on MDC T have affected many of us.
