Harare(ZimEye)The Movement for Democratic Change has reclaimed the Speaker of Parliament seat which was wrestled away form its candidate Lovemore Moyo by the Zanu (PF) king pin Professor Jonathan Moyo through the supreme court.

lovemore-moyo-jubilationMDC garnered a convincing 105 while Zanu (PF) scored a paltry 93 against the expected 96 meaning that more than three Zanu (PF legislators voted for MDC.
Lovemore Moyo was unseated from the post by the supreme court Judge George Chiweshe’s ruling which he arrived at in concurrence with some other two judges saying the election of the speaker in 2008 had marred by serious irregularities.
MDC party being led by Professor Welshman Ncube yesterday indicated that they had encouraged its members to vote for the MDC-T to counter the Zanu (PF) rigging strategy to gain an unfair election advantage through arresting MDC-T legislators.
mnangagwa-Meanwhile the MDC-T on Tuesday afternoon announced on a press conference that they had unearthed a scandal in which Zanu (PF)’s Jonathan Moyo had bribed some five MDC-T legislators with US$25 000 to secure a vote for them.
There was jubilation on the streets of Harare as the two MDC supporters took to the streets to celebrate the victory while the police’s anti riot squad was in attendance and started beating the MDC supporters who where celebrating.  (ZimEye, Zimbabwe)  PIC:

The President of Zimbabwe, in preparation for the harmonized elections, using his powers vested upon him by the constitution, will now call for the adjournment / suspension of all parliamentary proceedings until the elections have been held.   15. The fact that at least 2 Zanupf mps voted for our Speaker adds icing on the cake. Wake up Zanu poor finishing democracy starts in your own party do not impose candidates. Congrats to both mdc formations for coming together to defeat evil. This is a habinger of worse things to come General Elections no matter how much we are persecuted remain focused.

  16. Zanu PF got what they deserve. Why do they allow Janathan Moyo to expose and put them to shame like this? This guy is not Zanu Pf, he has a hidden agenda somehow that the ZANU PF guys don’t see because of their desperation for just one vote from Jona! And yet he doesn’t even vote for anyone in Zanu PF. I urge ZANU PF to scrutinize Jonathan Moyo seriously – i tell you they will see the opposite of what they think about him. How many flawed processes have taken place to the advantage of ZANU PF which were not reversed despite appeals & appeals? What was so special about Lovemore Moyo’s election as Speaker in 2008 that Jonathan Moyo felt should be contested? The issue is simply that he has personal hate for Lovemore just like George Chiweshe for MDC.

  31. Zanu PF will never win fair election as demonstrated by winning of speaker’s election by MDC-T today. Thanks to other MDC formation MPs to see logic in voting for Lovemore Moyo as well as a few Zanu PF MPs. Rigging by arresting MPs failed.
