As corruption continues to rise in the country’s police force, a Mazoe based cop committed suicide shortly after being discovered with a bag full of an undisclosed lump some amount of US dollars.
Sergeant Clarence Taurai Muza was arrested after being caught red handed with the bag of money at a road block.
Police Spokeswoman Asst Comm Charity Charamba confirming the development indicated the officer was alone to blame as he was fully aware of the offence.
She said this was most likely to have caused the suspected charity_charamba412x232suicide.
“We regret the loss of life, but, however, we do take all corruption cases seriously,” Snr Asst Comm Charamba said.
For the past 14 years, bribery has risen to become a common feature at roadblocks with many officers taking advantage of motorists both offending and those innocent.

  2. i would like to appeal to those who are in the hierarchy of Ndebele Cultural Affairs to make the King Mzilikazi Khumalo commemorations a Ndebele Societal Event .
We have noticed , unless i do not know more , that this commemorations tends to be limited to Khumalos and a few close members of the Society.
The first thing which should be done is to involve the Youth of the region in the preparation and full participation. The reason being that , if it continues to be limited to a few and older generation -members , it will soon wane and die with them. Then there will go the era of a Great Man and a Great Nation. The 2nd is the involvement of every Chief in the Province .Each chief has to contribute resources and his subjects to the Ceremony. An Imbizo sholuld be called to gather all chiefs and their right-hand men to discuss how things should be done ,who should do what , so that this Event becomes a meaningful one , which it deserves to be
A week of cultural activity with various surbubs participating should precede the main event. The Event itself should be very well organised , with a march through the main roads leading into the City , followed by the Commemoration at Entumbane in Matopo .
i am available to work with any body , yound , old or middle-aged , to help plan this very important occassion which has not been accorded the respect it deserves. Mzilikazi was a Founder of the Nation , all in the Province were accpted by him as Subjects and accorded equal status . Stand up and be counted Madoda .

  3. Please advise. What should the world do with Shona people?
We hate them; what should be done?

  4. I am not convinced Sgt. Muza was carrying personal booty. He might very well have been murdered for wanting to disclose the big deals of some senior cop(s) whose loot he was carrying. Why is the police rushing to say he committed suicide? Why quickly rule out murder? Nxa-a! Saying he was afraid of repercurssions is tomfoolery. How many police officers have acted corruptly and committed suicide for fear of legal processes. In any case, how much was involved? $300? $30,000? How much is worth dying for? I smell a very big, furry, dead and rotting Mongolian rat in this widely publicised case. RIP Muza – sacrificial lamb. Zimbabwe’s law enforcement system is like a spider’s web – letting hornets through and catching small flies. Shame!
