Harare(ZimEye)There was a crisis in Harare Monday afternoon after Professor Welshman Ncube was snubbed from the principals meeting yet attended by President Robert Mugabe, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara.
This development goes against a resolution passed at the recent SADC summit which declared Welshman Ncube as the legitimate MDC principal and not Arthur Mutambara.
A furor was also sparked by Arthur Mutambara after he attacked and shouted at Jacob Zuma for snubbing him during a principal’s briefing last week.
The MDC deputy spokesman Kurauone Chihwayi told ZimEye:
“MDC president professor Welshman Ncube was not invited to the meeting of principals today. This did not come as a surprise to all green team members. We shall remain committed to the struggle of delivering a just and fair Zimbabwe. The MDC shall go on a collision course with Mugabe, Tsvangirai and Mutambara. We are ready for any storm with all the angels of Lucifer.”
It was not clear if Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai was party to the plot to snub Ncube.
What was not also clear was what Mugabe, Tsvangirai and Mutambara were meeting for.
Meanwhile president Mugabe’s spokesman George Charamba told state media that Prof Ncube’s recognition by SADC as leader of the MDC would not upgrade him to the status of Principal when it comes to Zimbabwe’s Government matters.
“The long and short of all this is that Prof Mutambara remains a Principal in the same way Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is and the same way President Mugabe is.
“He remains so in spite of the Sadc decision, which relates to political parties anyway.”
Mr Charamba said Sadc stressed that for the purposes of its mediation assignments in Zimbabwe, it would now be dealing with leaders of political parties.

  2. There are some Sh0na people who seem to believe that their anti-Mthwakazi tribalism reflects the general attitude of the average Sh0na voter, hence their misguided and misplaced belief that Prof Welshman can never win a seat or be President of Zimbabwe.
What they don’t realise is that the average Sh0na is no tribalists – all he wants is bread on the table and schooling for his children. Who ever can provide that, so be it.
Gukurahundi tribalism will never work, if that is how you have managed to dominate Zimbabwean politics – times have changed and times are changing – watch the space

Zanu PF fumes over Ncube SADC ‘leak’
    22/08/2012 00:00:00
    by Staff Reporter
PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF party – stung by the leaking of details of last week’s SADC summit proceedings where the 88-year-old leader took a hammering from regional colleagues – has furiously lashed out at MDC leader Welshman Ncube, accusing him of breaching his ministerial oath.
Ncube emerged from the summit on Saturday and told New Zimbabwe.com how Mugabe had been openly challenged by regional leaders over his insistence that the former MDC leader, Arthur Mutambara, was still a “principal” in Zimbabwe’s coalition government.
Mugabe lost the argument and the summit passed a resolution banning Mutambara – who remains Deputy Prime Minister – from its summits and endorsing Ncube as a principal for the purposes of South African President Jacob Zuma’s mediation effort.
But Zanu PF says by revealing details of summit proceedings, Ncube violated his cabinet oath on confidentiality.
Ncube, who is the Industry and Commerce Minister, Finance Minister Tendai Biti, Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa, Regional Integration Minister Priscilla Misihairabwi and Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi all accompanied Mugabe into the summit in their ministerial capacities.
Zanu PF contends that while proceedings of the SADC troika on politics, defence and security are political in nature and not confidential, the summit of Heads of State on the other hand is a secretive forum.
“It is a violation of Ncube’s cabinet oath to put under his name a purported verbatim record not corroborated by any other source, and attribute to certain Heads of State certain words. It is unprecedented,” Zanu PF politburo member Jonathan Moyo stormed on Wednesday.
“No cabinet minister has ever done that. Ncube was taken there as a cabinet minister for the purposes of his government role. This has nothing to do with the veracity of his narration; it is unprecedented and unbecoming of a cabinet minister. It is a violation of SADC protocol for anyone who is sitting in that meeting to come out and do that because deliberations of the summit are confidential.”
Last Saturday, Ncube told New Zimbabwe.com that during a discussion about Mutambara – which lasted an hour – Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba had asked the chairman, Armando Guebuza of Mozambique, if the Zimbabwean parties had representatives in the room.
Zanu PF had Mugabe, Chinamasa and Mumbengegwi; the MDC-T Biti and the MDC Ncube and Misihairabwi.
Mugabe, Biti and Ncube were then given the floor, and the MDC officials both took the line that there were no practical political reasons for Mutambara to be considered a principal. Mugabe, on the other hand, insisted that Mutambara’s appeal at the Supreme Court against two High Court rulings that he had no legitimate claim to be MDC president meant he could not be sidelined.
Ncube and Biti succeeded in swaying the SADC leaders, with Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, Namibia’s Pohamba, Botswana’s Ian Khama, His Majesty King Mswati III of Swaziland, Lesotho Prime Minister Tom Thabane and the representative of the Prime Minister of Mauritius all supporting their stance while Mugabe found himself isolated with Zambia’s Michael Sata the only leader to argue that “Mutambara was an internal issue which should not concern SADC.”
Zanu PF is unhappy that its leader’s apparent humiliation was made public.
Moyo added: “For Ncube to come out and say his President, who took him there, has been humiliated is shocking. If this was the SADC troika, he would be free to come out and say the Zanu PF president was humiliated, that would be within his rights. But we take exception when a political leader who went in as a cabinet minister comes out in the way Ncube did.
“SADC communicates to the outside world through a communiqué, not individuals sitting there.”
Responding to Moyo on Wednesday, Ncube was reluctant to go into the legalistic issues about the confidentiality of SADC summits, but posed the question: “Did I address the SADC summit as a minister?”
He went on: “The most important thing is that people should not be allowed to divert from real issues. We should not aid and abet them in diversionary tactics, diversionary politics.
“There are real issues that confront our country – the constitution impasse, the economic crisis, and roadmap to elections. We are not tempted by diversionary politics, people trying to take our eyes off real issues.
“Everything we have said is true. We have always spoken about details of discussions at SADC on Zimbabwe, everyone put those discussions in the public domain including Zanu PF. We will continue to do so, we will not hide the truth and give some a chance to tell lies.”

  4. Chigwadziso, what is Mdhakwazi, I asked you that question and you have never answered?
I told you sometime back that most of the people who mispronounce or mispell other people’s names are usually the worst tribalists and racists and many Sh0na people and many whites do this – because of that, stop accusing those who react to your tribalism – we cant keep turning the other cheek, we are NOT FOOLS.
What is Robhengura, Bhuruwayo, Muzirikhadzi; Mavengemavenge (for Mvengemvenge??)
You deserve each other with the w.hi.te racists. Hlalani linjalo!!

  5. @ Chigwadziso, why should you speak for the moderates as if you were one. Your ignorance + your tribal tirade has helped to radicalise too.

  6. Mdhakwazi what you don’t realise is its people like you who radicalise any moderate by unacceptable assertions of Zezuru rhetoric, you are so foolishly determined to sow seeds of hatred.

  7. Its time Mutambara joined forces with Makoni. Mutumwa Mawere should join them also rather that pussy foot by forming another useless party. That way we have a reasonably strong party of big heads who may have something to offer.
if we are not to be clouded by the polarisation that has become cancerous in our society, these people really have somthing to offer. Its just that currently in Zim politics is about two faces, Robert and Morgan rather than it is about ideas and strategies for national progress.

  8. tswangira has proven to be a sellout all you people from matebeleland wake up and smell the coffee come elections don’t vote for him even if the votes from matebeland are few he will not win at the end of the day those vote will count alot

  9. “We are ready for any storm with all the angels of Lucifer.” ha ha mr party vice spokesman ure too funny…ya zim politics has its own idiosyncrasies.
So the prince of darkness Mr Mugabe continues to sow seeds of division and his “educated” people continue to follow in darkness because the hatred in them is greater than accepting that they got it wrong big time.

  10. P/S, before we even go further – what is Mha@takadzi or Mdwakadzi?
Turning the other cheek is certainly a luxury, a waste of time with some of your kind. Most of you are ill-bred, so you deserve the worst of human nature.
    You are evil, Lucifer’s Angels.
Why am I surprised kanti, seeing that you grew up in Mugabe’s Gukurahundi SATAN’S KINGDOM!!

  11. Chigwadziso, yes you are right – some of us have no time to waste with intransigent Gukurahundi Sh0na tribalists. Turning the other cheek is a luxury we in Mthwakazi can ill -afford!!

  12. Proud Mhat@kadzi you are flashing your true colours now,the worst tribalist on this forum, why do you parade your hatred with impunity,i used to mistake you for a peace-maker but alas you are just a disguised wolf…so much hate in you,you breathe it,eat it and fart it!Basically thats how you roll,a way of life!

  13. Zezurus, these people who are also known as Sh0nas are the centre of all the problems bedevilling Zimbabwe today.
They have imposed chiZezuru under the disguise of Sh0na on all Zimbabweans, now they are imposing Mutambara who represents no one, just to saw more confusion in Zimbabwe’s politics.
Most of them are Mozambican or Malawian by origin, anyway!!
HOW MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE GENUINELY LIKE THESE ZEZURUS – RAISE YOUR HANDS

  16. Wena papa Wemba Ncube has no south african origns He may be representing ndebele but he is only part of the locals absorbed by msilikazi less than a hundred years ago.Look how confused he is, he pushes around everyone to please himself. He beleves shonas can be shoved around like cards but each time he trys he hits a brick wall.He should try the muthakati brigade.

  17. Zezurus, these people who are also known as Sh0nas are the centre of all the problems bedevilling Zimbabwe today.

  19. Tribalism!!! The root of all evil in Africa!!! You will never move forward with this tribalism which is even at government level!!! Look at all African countries without tribalism and see how they are progressive!!! Cry Zimbabwe the beloved country of those forever destined to diaspora because its unihabitable!!!

  20. 1. The Newsday report says something different. Tswangirayi and Mugabe agreed to include Ncube as a Principal for the purposes of GPA negotiations and the constitution;
    2. Surely this is what matters most than the title DPM. Negotiators are Ncube’s negotiators, not Mutambara. Dealing with Mutambara is a waste of time and will not help resolve the constitutional impasse since he has no party or negotiators, ask Priscilla and Moses Mzila, they know who they represent, and thats is certainly not Mutambara;
    4. The claim of respecting the law and court decisions is nonsensical. Since when have the Gukurahundis respected the law? If they respected the law, then why is Bennet not a deputy Minister of Agriculture, seeing that a similar reason was advanced for not swearing him in – pending the courts?
    5. Zimbabweans baledlozi lobuyanga. They create unnecessary problems for themselves out of nothing. This Mutambara issue is a very small thing; but it has been blown out of proportion because of hidden agendas, some purely political others outrightly tribalistic. You are simply evil tribalists and Chihwayi is correct – they are Lucifer’s Angels!!

  21. I am begging to develop a health respect for this fool Bla Miki. Anotaura sense kana asiri kum.a.m.a

  22. Sorry.I meant to say political party appointments are different from Government appointments pamusoro apo.

  23. People should understand that political appointments are different from Party appointments.Tsvanirai and Mutambara met Mugabe as Primeminister and Deputy Priminister of Government.Ncube by Government appointments is a mere Minister of Industry and Comerce.Had the meeting been for Political Party leadership then it could have been something different.Mutambara has not yet been resigned as Minister of Government.Saka ndoo protocol yacho.

  24. Mutambara, having travelled all this journey in the bumpy GNU, having tirelessly contributed towards the establishment of a stable and peaceful country, you now think its easy to dump him on the sideways? The three Principals, Cde Mugabe, Tsvangirai and Mutambara have built a strong bond, they have been tirelessly working together and have been critical in defusing chaos, tension and anarchy and brought sanity. It is the three of them who are aware of what is left to be done and all the tasks ahead of them for the good of the people. SADC’s role is to mediate in areas of disagreements, conflict and to ensure peaceful solutions are found for the good of the country. SADC therefore cannot be an institution which decides leaders for any sovereign state. The relationship between Ncube and Zuma should not in anyway compromise Zimbabwe’s national leadership, bloody hypocrits. See who is having the last lough!

  25. I don’t see why MDC-N is crying out foul here. The so-called President, PM and his deputy regularly meet for briefing on government matters, we understand from Bla Dog and other sources that they have “tea”. The Ncube faction foolishly surrendered leadership of their party in 2007 to Mutambara, by virtue of which he was made DPM after the GNU was formed. There is no instrument in the GPA that provides for the removal of the robotics doctor, even Mugay can’t do much. Dr Robotics has to resign of his own accord, which he isn’t willing to do. He therefore remains part of the troika of principals in matters concerning government, Ncube isn’t. It’s as simple as that. It was short-sightedness on the part of MDC-N so they should just get on with life and stop behaving like victims.

  26. Thank God that im shona.mgabe, tsvangi, mtambara hate ndebeles just like papa wemba.ndebele zim identity is imagined not real.meaning 2 say dey are bloody foreigners.Cheers bob, tsvangi, cmrd mtambara.

  27. Thank God that im shona.mgabe, tsvangi, mtambara hate ndebeles just like papa wemba.ndebele zim identity is imagined not real.meaning 2 say dey are bloody foreigners.Cheer bob, tsvangi, cmrd mtambara.

  28. Look at who is complaining on behalf of the angels of lucifer? Cde Naked our people must wake up and smell the coffee. This pretence will not work.
Annonymous does something ring a bell? Do you understand why we do not like Tswangirai? When it comes to maginalisation of Ndebeles Tswangirai is like Zanoo. Why MDC-T fail to boycott the meeting that excludes a true principal? So why should we back him to remove Mugabe? I would rather vote for Zanoo than MDC-Tea.
Nobody and nobody has exposed Zanoo the Ncube has done in just 10 yrs. Now SADCC will believe us when we say we are descriminated against. The Un and the whole world will open its eyes and our people will open their eyes too.

  29. Yes,!some statements will echoe in people’s ears forever and they will be used to judge whoever spit them in future.
You cant just call others Lucifer simply because you disagree on something, does your differing view make you holy?

  30. That spokesperson of Ncube had a good point,bt where he went wrong was calling others angels of Lucifer.yes, from yo own point of view, they deserve to be called thus.however,u should have left the Lucifer part unsaid for the benefit of those who havent yet understood yo party bt want to support it soon as it shows signs of being a redeemer.yo words which pinpointed others as angels of Lucifer have made some people ,if not all,ask themselves if u yoself are holy.people wont forget that.

  31. Musarega vana nachitambisa zvekumabin. Vanofa necholera. Who is Mutambara? Kana akaraswa neparty yake saka akamiririra vanaani. Which party is Mutambara representing? Guys lets be serious. Better leave Mugabe rule for the whole of his life if yu party leaders are confused.

  32. Ncube is disturbing Zim politics definitely he can not make by having few Matebeleland votes even if he smuggles some votes frm SA were most Ndebele the so called injivas are. For that party to have a better future, Mtambara panyanga! Ncube is proving rather selfish n greedy mhana isikhati sako sizafika but obvious not as a president of Zimbabwe, that one forget!

  33. This is tricky as long as Professor Mutambara is still a Deputy Prime Minister. MDC-N should recall him to avoid confusion. If there are still some legal technicalities, then they should wait and stop calling other people Angels of Lucifer until the legal technicalities are resolved. I hear Mutambara has appealed to the Supreme Court – what legal effect does that have – let that be clarified so that the public are well informed, and it will be good if MDC-N can take the initiative to educate the public on those things.

  34. If Tsvangison was against the snubbing of Prof Ncube,he should have boycotted the meeting with Napoleon. He has a problem too and he must stop pretending to follow SADC resolutions and go to hell.

  35. How holy are you Kurai Chihayi to label others angels of Lucifer. Please mind your statements, and speak likea mature politician and not as a coward.Remember it’s your boss who brought this Mutambara factor from nowhere into Zimbabwean politics in a way to try and convince the world that the split from the mainstream MDC wasn’t for Ncube to get a higher post. Those who spit in the air will always find their spit back on their noses.

  36. So Mr Staff Reporter, why did you rush in to publish something that you don’t have full information of? In interview with Kurauone Chihwai was all you wanted to cover this story? And you call it Mugabe when Tsvangirai is also part of this arrangement?

  37. the idea is so good bro but dont label pple satans if you want us to remain party members, speak like apolitician not a coward. wish you all the best

  38. I ask sincerely, what do you really want in zim without interference from whites and black but only God saying.i declare myself to lead Zimbabwe through the wishes of God now and forever more in God’s will . Amen and the world over.
