Dead body among stranded Air Zimbabwe passengers

London (ZimEye) There is a dead body among passengers who have been waiting hopelessly at London’s Gatwick airport, ZimEye has been told.
While it was not clear the status of the diseased’s body, it was revealed it is that of the husband of one of the travelers as it became clear there was still no luck for Air Zimbabwe passengers on Thursday night after the national airline’s payment for a debt to an American creditor did not reflect in the latter’s bank account.
As at 1800Hours passengers were in confusion as to what would transpire the following morning when they are supposed to be checking out and the hotel management are to force them out of the temporary accomodation.
Radio presenter Ezra Tshisa Sibanda told ZimEye:
“There are people who lost their relatives.  Someone has got a body – A woman who’s flying  her husband’s body is still here, its stuck [with us]. It’s sad really,” Tshisa said.

He also said that the airline’s US creditor will not release the aircraft since payment is not reflecting.
“There’s no luck. We saw an email from the American company which says
the moneys are not reflecting in their account,” Tshisa said.
The American General Suppliers company secured a court injunction that has given them the power to impound the airlines aircraft for over US$ 1, 2 million debts.
Although the ministry of transport has arranged payment, the aircraft will not be released until the alleged payment has cleared in the bank account. Meanwhile passengers will have to wait until that is possible (ZimEye, UK)

Please can you tell me/us what are your goals ambitions for Zimbabwe? Lets just imagine you found yourself at an influencial Position in Zimbabwe, what would be your developmental strategy, and what would you change or adress first. I am of the realistic democratic view that there will always be people like you, as different as people may find you, Infact we need people like you,free spirit no boundary attitude.

  4. this statement that says Zimbabwe belongs to Shonas is arrogant,unless probably it means or should be interpreted as radical patriotism.WHAT ABT THE OTHER GROUPINGS THAT LIVE AND ORIGINATE IN ZIM? I refer to Khalangas, vendas. nambya, tongas,babirwas, sothos, tswanas, even Rodesians. To me Shonas belong in Mashonaland which is a province of Zimbabwe and thats not a big deal. My warning is there can never be a winner in a tribal war and noone has ever won it.even if it were to happen where will it be fought and by whom? if Zimbabwe is indeed for shonas, then the other provinces where shona ppl arent found are not in Zimbabwe. How are you going to deal with that?

  6. i m disappointed with the quality of debate and issues raised by a good measure of participants on this forum. Instead of talking issues taking the country forward and conscietising other zimbos and sharing the good experiences wherever we are, participants by and large are singing pro or anti Mugabe/Tsvangirai slogans that continue to divide our ppl. Are you not tired of the 70s – 80s party sloganeering of pasi/pamberi which in fairness is mindless shouting deemed and brainwashing the uninformed. Zimbabwe will not progress if its youth and intellectual are still stuck in the 70s. Zimbos , where are the developmental issues and for Gods stop making jokes and scoring points abt the Gukurahundi massacres, some of us are victims of that criminal era and there was no military value to it. It was crime, crime ,crime. The victims and the affected are still here, but I never hear abt the perpetrators who some claim where brave. SHAME ON YOU ZIMBABWE

The Boer in RSA is spitting into the grave of Aparthied they would have ended their lunacy earlier had they known how wealthy the Rainbow nation would make them. I Love Zimbabwe because i know we are on the right path, we need investors but not until we Zimbabweans become confident enough to invest in our own country. At present we probably have more Political Analysts than Artisans or even Voters. The industrial revolution of China or India only attracted Big industry after the locals began at their grassroots.The whole Burning money era has given Zimbos unrealistic visions of Growth.

  15. Stanley Mutasa you are just as bad as Bla Miki. The world has moved on and there will not be any recolonisation of Zimbabwe as such, maybe the Chinese will suck the country dry but you can be assured the Queen of England has no desire to take over your so called birthright.
    The fall of Air Zimbabwe is simple, it was due to poor management, corruption etc, only when the present backward looking generation who live in the past have gone will the situation improve. Lets hope the next generation who take over the country are modern and foreward in their thinking so that Zimbabwe can rejoin the world and become prosperous once again.

  16. What is sad is the complete lack of brain at AirZim, how their whole business plan can focus on serving any destination beyond Africa is utter shortsightedness! How do we a 3rd world want to compete in the 1st world when we havent a clue about our own African flight requirements? I can report that there is no tickets out of OR Tambo to any West African destination those in the know book as early as JUNE for Festive season flights! Imagine our National airline brave enough to tittle themselves “National” yet they dont serve the Nation, given the stats here in Rsa sure it would be profitable to have a seasonal 40 or 50 seater plane jet in and out of Rsa during Holiday season, using a Business degree that everybody seems to have nowadays a small amount of “Maarketin” could have such packages advertised mid year with a spread payment plan for destinations such as Gwanda, Mutare,Gweru,Hwange etc. The prevailing colonial mentality forbids planes to be used as public transport as in rural South/North America, DRC, Nigeria etc We by now should have small aircraft buzzing in and out of all our Rural airstrips (think of the employment opportunities? fuel supply, service industry,accomodation etc). The effects of colonialism are so fresh and evident within the so called elite, one can even conclude that the mentality is “the more educated the less brain application and more pay” everyone is a Managing Director or a CE0! It baffles me when there is NOTHING being CHIEFLY EXECUTED! We have/had the best Pilots, we have/had the best aircraft engineers, so whats missing? (an MD or CEO ha ha) In the oppresive era a smart person or move would be awarded with the remark “Wamurungu chaiye” “sulukhiwa sibili” perhaps this is where we get the oppresive element from? Does it not follow that when you become smart and move into the formerly whiteman’s office,put on his clothes,his accent and his OPPRESIVE Attitude?? The effects are so scary our ladies are nolonger convinced they are beautiful without some lousy WIG! Brothers! Have you taken time to examine some of these hairstyles? (a dead black/brown chicken landing) If newspaper reports are anything to go by, it wont be profitable for airZim to Focus only on serving its former Master without grounding itself at HOME thus becoming a REAL NATIONAL Airline! As for this SHONA/NDEBELE Mudslinging which has now Matured to obscenities! I say GoodLuck, its encouraging that we have a lot of energy amongst Zimbabweans, however misdirected. In the meantime we are busy developing and building other Nations wherever we are scattered. The queen still enjoys the wealth of Rhodesia and if she can assemble more Noblemen we shall be Recolonised. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!   19. I thought the above article is indicating that a payment was made but the money is still to reflect in the bank account. What Air Zim is supposed to be advised is to timeously make its payments. Air Zim is a national entity and the government must see to it that something must be done.
    As for Cde Naked he must adjust his/her mental capability. If he/she is creating this out of jokes then let him/her be aware that we don’t play with such issues.

  28. @Naked. I have observed all your comments on this forum and they are all in bad tribalistic taste. I urge you to stop this Shona/Ndebele rubbish. Let’s think Zimbabwe, which is made up of two MAIN tribes (Ndebele and Shona). With modern technology, supersonic travel, supra-electonic comms, e-commerce, inter-tribal marriages, etc the Shona-Ndebele demarcation is dying a very quick and natural death. What’s you point in reviving it? Today we are almost like one family with people in South Africa, yet you continue trying to make 2 out of 1 Zimbabwe. This is the reason why you’ll never dislodge Mugabe from power (kudos to the man, however, for insisting that Zimbabwe is one).
    As for AirZim pliz be serious. By any standards, USD1.2 million should not be too much for a NATIONAL airline. Find one company of individual to bail you out and salvage Zim’s name. Pleeease!!
