Despite a dodgy and disputed voters roll being used in the elections, outgoing Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has said that he is confident of a resounding poll victory which will set him as Zimbabwe’s incoming President.
Casting his own ballot paper at Mt Pleasant flanked by his wife, Tsvangirai indicated this was a historic moment for whole of Zimbabwe. When asked on his projections, he said his victory would be “quite resoundingly.”
His comments however came at the same time as many across the country were denied the right to vote despite having been registered, and also the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission(ZEC) came under fire from analysts on Tuesday night when the organisation refused to release the voters roll in electronic format only releasing it on hard-paper and also at the last minute.
Tempers flared up when Zimbabweans found out that ZEC misled people on Saturday after claiming that the voters roll had been released to provinces at the weekend which has now turned out to be untrue. A paper copy was later released to various parties and circulated late on Tuesday night. ZimEye has revealed that there are numerous systematic duplications in the voters roll despite vigorous revision work having been performed earlier.
Other critical concerns raised by voters on Wednesday morning were that many people were failing to vote. At around 10am, a group of 23 people was denied the chance to vote in the very same Mount Pleasant area where Tsvangirai was physically casting his vote. They were told that their names did not appear on the voters’ roll even though they had registration slips.
In other parts of the country, widespread reports of people with IDs and voting slips being turned away were made. These included for instance at Bulawayo polling stations where people were told to rather go to what was termed “command centers”. It was not clear what these command centres are, and a comment from ZEC was awaited at the time of writing.

@Bigaz, you can’t debate because you never posted any fact or point to debate apart from shouting at people. You need facts to debate unfortunately you don’t have any so you right you are better of keeping quiet and let those with facts debate.Everything I said in my posts in turning to be TRUE, but you can’t see that.Explain how the rigging will happen because i have explained how the rigging is being stopped, you never suggested one way the rigging can happen in all your posts.

Violence is for neanderthals from zanoo, the current peaceful atmosphere was what they should have been encouraging from the start. As you know these tree swinging primates only know one language, and that is clubbing people to death for not voting for them. Extended voting is for polling stations where excessively registered voters could not exercise their democratic right.
@bigaz if what Mukadota is saying is true it emphases what I have been telling you about the voting process, “counting is being done at the polling station, so you can’t rig coz every party has a representative”.
@mukadota I thought the voting time was extended to midnight. When did they finish counting? It’s not only zanu pf which should be mature about the elections, even us the public we have responsibility to each other not to supply wrong information, because tomorrow it can cause violence which we don’t want. I personally don’t care who wins but I want peaceful time after the results and responsible politics.

@bigaz Iwe ndiwe wakableya, you talk politics but you don’t know the process being used, as I said in my posts 2008 process was open to rigging because they had to move ballot boxes before counting, this time they are counting at each polling station to counter the swapping of ballot boxes. Don’t join the debate if you are not well informed You are still thinking of 2008 process, things have moved on, some top mdc-t members know this but they might have not talked you or you just dumb.

@chinja. I don’t understand your explanation. Someone has physically got to vote for the ballot paper to be in the ballot box, and thier finger prints are yhen taken so they can’t vote again using another name. Be careful of propaganda.

Every polling station has a representative of each party, before the voting starts the polling station master will open the ballt box and every party representative checks that it’s empty, then the box is locked. People then vote and the party representative will be in the room checking as people vote. After the votes the counting starts immediately and the party representative will be there during counting as well. After counting every party representative signs to say they are happy with the process, then the polling Station master will send the result to zec. The only time they can be rigging is when they move the ballot boxes before counting as they did in 2008. @mfana.. I think you are brain dead.

In your wisdom, how do you explain the clones??? You do realise that this is the very first time the voters roll has undergone such scrutiny. How do you also explain more voters than actual inhabitants in 63 constituencies? Why do we have only 18% of the 18-24 year olds registered (out of 1.6 million)?

The MDC and its supporters are real cry babies.they complain about everything the special vote,ZEC.voters roll,the ZBC.mumber of polling stations and many more things too numerous to mention.How does a dead voter lead to rigging? For a dead voter to appear on the roll it is because we do not acquire death certificates for our relatives who were registered voters.There is no way the Registrar General will remove such.The MDC was in government for 5 years they should have embarked on sorting the voters roll.Can someone please explain how rigging takes place coz I cast my vote today and the system appeared perfect
@munhumutapa, it does not take a rocket scientist to realise that the ghosts and clones found on the voters roll will not vote physically! Ballot boxes will simply be swapped or will be simply added to the tally at the command center. That is where the rigging will take place, the command center!

There is a serious difference. The modern notion of a politician is one who lines his own pockets at the expense of the populace. @mukadota . I think if they want to rig they manipulate the the votes not the voters roll. I don’t understand how having dead people on the voters roll will help unless someone votes for them, which can be monitored by using the. Finger prints. I think you can only rig when you move ballot boxes around, but the counting is going to take place at the polling stations, with all parties being represented.

@ Munhumutapa, have you thought of the possibility of the rigging machine failing to perform. There are some conditions to name a few for rigging to work like a seriously low voter turnout, a heavily compromised and partisan electoral officials, a frustrating electoral voting process and a heavily populated voters registry of ghost voters.
We have heard this before. The real winner waits, don’t count your votes when sitting at the polling station, there will be time enough to count them when voting is done
If zanu pf is rigging then Tsvangirai won’t win but he’s sure he will win which means noone is rigging, or he is ringing himself that’s why he is sure. Even in the west noone claims to win before the votes.
Zanu pf rigging strategy at its best. Mugabe and his party must be reminded that a rigged will will mean nothing for zimbabwe because nothing will ever change ezcept bringing zimbabwe back to square one. Empty supermarket shelves.
