Several companies and persons engaging in unscrupulous and or questionable activities have been exposed into the open. ZimEye today takes a peep at the first exclusive draft list of investigative pieces this publication dug out bringing relief, and sometimes even compensation to affected parties.
Fearless and determined ZimEye journalists risked their lives penetrating into areas and territories they could have lost their souls in. Anything could have happened. ZimEye has since been nominated for the prestigious Zim Achievers Awards.
Below is the first draft list of both companies and persons exposed.
 
Fake Cargo Businessman, Bonnie Nembaware:  The UK based businessman, operated a cargo enterprise which failed several customers swindling them of more than £100 000 in goods they paid for to be sent to Zimbabwe not knowing the valuables would actually vanish into thin air.
Mr Nembaware even claimed that he smuggles any type goods into Zimbabwe without being noticed:” Put anything dead or alive,” he would declare.
The backyard company went on an escapade preying upon poor Zimbabweans in the diaspora. ‘No no no no, it happens all the time…we keep referring customers to Mr Nembaware ‘ the businessman’s secretary finally admitted before ZimEye following several audits stretching beyond two weeks.
After having been disgraced, Mr Nembaware went underground, and then after 10 months re-surfaced in another part of London this time as a travel agent, before being once again exposed by ZimEye and customers who had been robbed of their money were quickly refunded.
 
Aon Insurance Zimbabwe: This company’s directors attempted to forge hefty salary rewards on the same day when they also cancelled junior staff’s bonuses. The managing director, Susan Mutangadura claimed the company was making losses so they would not pay staff ther annual bonuses at the end of 2012.
Following the ZimEye investigation which stretched from Africa across the atlantic ocean all the way up to the US, Aon Zimbabwe’s director immediately cancelled the shady arrangement, and junior staff were quickly called into a reconciliation meeting in which it was announced that management had now changed their minds.
Other unscrupulous activites were exposed by this publication, up until the US parent company finally decided to pull out of Zimbabwe, having operated in the country for more than 50 years to date. Soon after this, the controversial managing director Susan Mutangadura was kicked out of office.
 
Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Australia, Jaqueline Zwambila: Zwambila, a dodgy Zimbabwe government official who reportedly stripped naked before embassy staff members and afterwards managed to sue an Australian newspaper, of sums up to 60,000 dollars suggesting and claiming that they had reported a false story. She also threatened to sue any news print which would report on her reported abuse of an MDC-T worker, who was her butler. It was only when ZimEye challenged her false claims that the world began to know of the development which could have remained buried forever. following the ZimEye article Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, President Robert Mugabe, and Deputy VP Arthur Mutambara, held an emergency meeting to discuss Zwambila.
There were also claims that Zwambila posseses a university degree and is now finalising her masters joint. A senior MDC-T member, Cephas Mazhange, defending her claimed that the highly controversial envoy has got a university degree and is now studying for a masters degree in International Relations. He stated:
“There we go again, the reporter forgot to write that Ambassador Zwambila is actually doing a Master Degree in International Relations. She already has a first degree. What is it that you have against Ambassador Zwambila. If she had committed any crime, there is no way Mugabe would have let her off the hook. Stupid reporting, whoever this reporter is.”
It was only when ZimEye tracked down the woman’s records in Australia that the world finally discovered through ZimEye that she does not have single degree certificate.
Zimbabweans immediately began to wonder how and why she was promoted to the high position of ambassador when there are at present several MDC-T officials jobless in Harare who have both powerful educational credentials as well as credible moral track records.
 
Millionaire Businessman Billy Rautenbach: Rautenbach, presided over a dangerous and chaotically planned 600million dollar ethanol-fuel plant which he used his connections to deprive poor villagers of their ancestral homelands and the villagers had “their relatives’ graves, schools, and clinics” destroyed to pave way for the plant which local environmentalists have however now found, has caused damage to the ecosystem.
Before any other news print had ventured, ZimEye carried out fearless exposure of the project’s ineptitude and incapacity to meet its expectations. ZimEye became unpopular at the time. But it was only late in 2012 when both government and Mr Rautenbach himself finally came to realise the project was a dreadful mistake, and to save face, Rautenbach agreed to handover some shareholding to the government. Even after obtaining greater government support, Rautenbach’s plant as at March 2013 has remained a mere pale elephant which has even failed to make money by exporting the fuel. Dodgy Cargo businessman, Fungwa Mawarire: The exercise to expose fraudsters hit an all-time high mark when a dodgy shipping service businessman, Fungwa Mawarire was exposed through complaints of goods paid for but never

delivered in Zimbabwe. Many shared similar sentiments and concerns and the man was never heard of again in the business circles following two detailed  ZimEye articles. Before this, he had disappointed several people who include Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi’s family.
 
 
 
 
Macheso dodgy promoter, Derrick Chisora:
This Zimbabwean boxer fared well on the international scene as he participated in several crowd-pulling matches becoming the pride of both Britain and Zimbabwe. But little did the world know who Chisora is until ZimEye fearlessly exposed him for his threatening behaviour before top maestro musician and singer Alick Macheso while being interviewed by ZimEye senior journo Eugene Majuru. His last tantrum was at the museve star’s concert where he appeared drunk and caused mayhem collecting all gate-takings before proper accounting procedures were done. Many news houses across the world were bullied into silence after being threatened with lawsuit by Chisora. It was only when ZimEye broke the story with exclusive evidence that his rapturous ego was crushed suddenly.
 
 
Church Swindler, fake businessman Richard Semba:
Richard Semba of Richard Freight caused much sorrow in Oxford and London where he obtained both payment and goods worth thousands of pounds and in the way also swindled a poor church of their assets which he had promised to deliver in Zimbabwe. ZimEye managed to track down many of the goods which included vehicles to Namibia under the keep of a Walvis Bay based company, where customers finally managed to identify their valuables
