Ex Ellis Robins Boys and Mabelreign Girls High school students are set for a special meeting with the legislator for Harare West, Jessie Majome in London’s borough of Barking on Saturday.
Jessie Majome who is visiting the UK this week, told ZimEye that she hopes to engage former students from the two schools in a way that could assist the improvement of service and educational conditions.
The meeting is set for The Thatched House pub in Ripple Road, IG11 9PG next to A13 in Barking at 1PM.
MP Majome’s visit comes amid concerns  raised on the condition of Harare’s Ellis Robins and Mabelreign Girls High schools with Ellis Robins once known as one Harare’s most prestigious government schools in particular being noted for poor educational facilities, dirty toilets, a school that has been reduced to a virtual grassland. On the other hand Mabelreign Girls High has been noted for a number of issues including random dismissals of school children on petty charges.

  1. I hope the MP is not doing it for “fush” and “major” alone. They are a lot of schools that have delapidated and also needs this kind of attention.

  2. It pains me to see my old skol going in this state,i think white management is beta, dnt mind wat u thnk

  3. Well done MP Jessie Majome, I hope the old boys and girls from these schools will attend this noble meeting. Mutambara has done it for Hartzell why can’t these old boys and girls do something, nommatter how little for their school. in fact this concept needs to flourish amongst all old students associations.
Blessed is the hand that giveth.

  4. But does grass cutting at a school require a ZANU PF or MDC government? I think some of our excuses are very lame alibi for poor management/administration. We can do better, please! I went to a rural school and am very proud of what they are doing with few resources they have. Not this rubbish we see in Harare government schools.
