MDC-T Organising Secretary, Nelson Chamisa, has dismissed floating rumours on social networks to the effect that he has a special and privileged business relationship with Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace who it is said he supplies Gushungo Dairy with all its transport logistics.
Reports claimed Chamisa (pictured-right) has a fleet of 45 haulage trucks that he allegedly imported while still ICT minister. The reports also claimed he did not pay import duty for the trucks.
Gushungo is controlled by President Robert Mugabe’s wife Grace.
But Chamisa has fired back at the reports challenging those peddling the rumours to step forward with the evidence.
He told ZimEye in an interview on Tuesday, “This is coming from desperate people. I hear there are reports, that Chamisa has gone to such and such a country in the Diaspora to renovate his house and a lot of unsubstantiated claims. Some of them saying Chamisa is importing some haulage trucks and is appealing for a tax relief.
“You think Mugabe will be foolish to award a tender to an MDC official when in his party there are millions of business people who could get such a tender?
“Moreover the trucks which do business at Gushungo farms are very visible and can be verified by simply taking the number plates and go (sic) to the CVR for confirmation. This needs you journalists not to ask me but do (sic) your investigations and expose the truth.  You can even go to your sources in ZANU (PF) and if this is happening, I honestly believe they will be happy to give such information.
“I live a clean and honest life.
“I know where it is coming from and the reason is that I have stood firm in defense of our Party President Morgan Tsvangirai. I have done so not because I love him but for the defense of the struggle which we started and is yet to be completed.”
Mr Chamisa was forthcoming and  kindly took the time to  explain his position. Furthermore, he even invited ZimEye journalists to look over ownership of the trucks from an unbiased  third party perspective so as to ascertain the truthfulness of his statements.

  1. Dear N Chamisa
“I know where it is coming from and the reason is that I have stood firm in defense of our Party President Morgan Tsvangirai. I have done so not because I love him but for the defense of the struggle which we started and is yet to be completed.”
Can you listen to yourself there young man. You blame Zanu-Pf coons for clinging to power yet you don’t see that you are applying the same disease that has killed our country. If you love Zimbabwe and all the Zimbabweans let Tsvangirai pass the baton.
The way you want Tsvangirai to cling to power is the same way that Chinamasa and all those in Zanu-Pf want Mugabe to stay in power as well. It’s heroic to pss the baton, didn’t you learn from the gret man Mandela or you don’t know him. The struggle you started, hahaha, do you know i lost my father in the same battle. You are just power hungry just like Mugabe and his team.
Leaders lead by example, Tsvangirai should pass the baton and maybe, just maybe the Zanus will learn from you.
    I Thank you
    Uncle Deek

  2. if its bussiness can anyone tell me what is wrong with that. money is money. and in this case chamisas is making clean money. grace wants a truck to carry her products. chamisa has got a truck. grace hires chamisas truck for so much. chamisa likes the deal and they have an agreement. chamisa executes the logistics. grace is happy and she pays chamisa. so whats political about that. a clean buisness deal between two zimbos. please any one who thinks otherwise can just go and hang.

  3. Chamisa must come clean if this is reality. That’s why I agree politicians, especially in Zimbabwe, are all the same. They have that inclination to clandestine business deals even with bad people as long as they benefit financially.Whilst we can’t nail him on the cross the onus is on him to prove his innocence to us the electorate, otherwise there is no smoke without fire.

  4. Morgan tomubvisa kana vatengesi vanyarara kuti zii.As long u are making noise,he wil stil ocupy the drivers seat.U cant destroy msangano wevanhu.

  5. Ohh machinja veduwe. If this has been about a Zanu leader you would al be cheering and saying its true. Now that its about MDC T zvashata? You love reading about Zanu corruption and not MDC T corruption? How so pathetic. Its ok now for Chamisa to have business dealings with Mugabe whilst he is busy claiming to be against him?

  6. saka mbuya iyi inodawo zvinhu, paye makamba, pamire neguva rimwe riye riri pa heroes raive body guard eeee ko haana imvi here grace uyu????

  7. I want to praise nelson, biti, gorden moyo and khupe 4 standing firm with th party leader. mangoma, zimurungu riya[bennet],mudzuri- endai kure. mbwa dzevanhu. kuda kuuraya musangano

  9. saskam rinohi grace mugabe muchero wemusango, anoda anodya. siyanai nachamisa. kogono, kopamire, komarufu, kovamwe vese vakadya muchero uyu.

  10. Funny how kana ari Chombo or a ZANU person people applaud the same type of shallow, immature and unprofessional journalism but as soon as it touches their beloved angels in the MDC they condemn the same journos they have been serenading with praises. What proof did anyone ever produce of corruption on the part of Chombo/Mpofu???
Also funny how Chamisa doesn’t deny owning Trucks….Saka mari dzacho wakadziwanepi kana ava ne matruck chero one zvayo nokuti haana business kunze kwepolitics ka mpfana uyu?

  11. What’s wrong with that?? Business is business whether you are Zanu PF or MDC. The media please stop creating useless stories. Nditatenga food muSpar yaKaukonde kana maMutomba ndavewe Zanu PF here. So you cannot separate politics and busines?? This only exposes ignorance of most journos in Zimbabwe today. The likes of Zvayi. kikiki.

  12. Dzimwewo nyaya dzakatonhora. What’s news when providing the reader half-baked news which are not substantiated. Rumours! rumours! rumouirs! please give us a break.

  13. Truely rubbish story why drag the first lady name as if its a dubious relationship if there is any relationship.Gushungo dairy can do business with anybody . this sensetionalising has to stop and respect not only the first lady but people at large

  14. Koinga iko TAMBOYENYOKA kanouya kachitenga beers mu bottle store yangu, kachipaka truck ye MDC(chematama) pamberi pe shop yangu, iyo portrait ya Cde Mugabe yakatarisa pa counter ? The story is fishy and far fetched, to say the least! What about a follow up on Morgan after reconciling with RUZAPETA ? Pa-ane moto here pa bonde? The nation is awaiting for Zim eye `s eyesight into that bonde latest ?

  15. If Chamisa has a deal with Gushungo dairy , what is the problem? The same Gushungo dairy has a contract with Nestle, a Swirtzerland owned company , from Europe where Mugabe says to hell with. Why didn’t they mention Nestle in indegenisation? This is another masterpiece of rubbish from a masterclass fool. There is no evedence. But why don’t you investigate human rights abuses at Chiadzwa, the wealthy of Obert Mpofu, Moyo and Chomo?
Mohamed Mussa, Bhadella, Desai ,Sabot transport-with over 1000 trucks in SADC , are all not paying duties.
This is zrazilness and very shallow in did.As long as you castigate MDC hen you think its news.Ukaona gudo rochema kuti munda wapera, rinoona kuti ratangigwa rakavata.

  16. This is a very silly article… Sensational reporting to the point of stupidity. The headline is also foolish.

  17. “EXCLUSIVE: Chamisa Denies Relationship with Grace Mugabe”
Kkkkkkkkkkkk. ZimEye just tell us your story! That headline is too shouty over a flat story. Grace Mugabe is mentioned once in the body of the story, hah?

  18. even if thats the case i dont see any problem, that business and many people have biz partnerships that cut across the political divide, Chamisa is right if doing biz Grace.

  19. yes, why not verify the ownership of the trucks from the CVR before rushing to print, or you know Chamisa could be proved innocent then they wont be any news at all.

  20. Now he is in the same boat na Chombo who started the Phrase, “Huya ne evidence yacho”. This is not taking us anywhere. That’s why Sikhala said these leaders dze MDC-T became mired in so many deals and forgot to serve. Vaane ma soseji kugotsi, vakanganwa. Now they are wealthy vaakutaura rough as they dash across the floor. Hakuna mutate uku. vese Biti (loose mouth and corruption), Tsvangirai wacho (dresses and greed), Shonhe (vakadzi vevanhu), Chamisa (smooth criminal-McGyver) etc ect. Yawwwwwn….we are tired of abuse.
