A driver who was officially assigned to drive Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai from 2005 is in ZANU PF’s top hierarchy, ZimEye can reveal.
This publication can reveal that Mr Liberty Mupakati based in Leeds, a former top executive in the MDC-T structures in the UK, is actually among top echelons of ZANU PF’s UK structure, a development which has shocked many MDC-T leaders.
ZimEye can reveal that Mr Mupakati is part of ZANU PF’s leadership which is currently seeking audience with the  British government for official recognition in what is a revival of ZANU PF’s 1980 relationship with the Conservative party. As at Wednesday,  they were already planning to approach the British Prime Minister David Cameron once they have been given the go ahead from Harare.

Double Agent? Liberty Mupakati
Double Agent? Liberty Mupakati

Mr Mupakati once drove around Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai in 2005 when the MDC-T leader officiated a crucial meeting in Leeds. See CORRECTION: Mr Liberty Mupakati Morgan Tsvangirai’s UK Leeds Driver in 2005
Former chairman “Ephraim Tapa was approached and clearly knew that Mupakati had strong links to ZANU PF and Tapa however did not do anything about it and continued even campaigning together with Mupakati. I think even now the MDC-T remains infiltrated,” a concerned MDC-T leader added.
Meanwhile other people named in ZANU PF’s UK structure included the Glasgow based former top MDC-T activist, Silence Chihuri and the controversial Tichaona Mutyambizi who is reportedly currently facing rape charges back in Zimbabwe but is leading as the Senior Secretary for Commissariat.
The latest meetings and discussions held this month have had Mr Mupakati being elected Vice Secretary for Commissariat, and Chihuri being provisionally assigned for the Vice Provincial Chairperson post.

Already at each others throats.
But before they meet David Cameron, the ZANU PF leaders are already at each others throats. This week Mr Tichaona Mutyambizi was blasted after he fired some of the committee members.
“Let me be very clear with Cde Tich. He has no mandate whatsoever to dismiss me from the Party. When the time comes for me to leave I will do so voluntarily. Zanu PF is not his private property for goodness sake,” said one member who was fired earlier this week.

Silence Chihuri.
Of Chihuri, it has been said the latter has been a member of just about every party. Up to 2005 he was part of MDC-T. When the split occurred, he then joined Welshman Ncube’s faction where he was a treasurer, before soon leaving and becoming an executive of Mavambo Kusile Dawn, afterwhich he then moved to start his own party, The Zimbabwe We Can, which later flopped within less than 8 weeks.

  1. Suppose he is an MDC plant in ZPF. Why cant other parties infiltrate the CIO, Police and army. Without agents in these organisations to destroy them from within then other parties will find it difficult to assume power. MDCs must infiltrate ZPF and the CIO, ZEC. This should be a long term strategy. MDCs must send their youths to Border Gezi, Affirmative Action etc so that after 20 years ZPf will be full of MDC agents just like Baba Jukwa

  2. Are u serious zimboz to support a 90year old men moti makafunda munondinyadzisa.

  3. I can see the train stoping @ the but stop of change, this coming week its mhora musango

  4. Tsvangirai chitongaweee chikaracheZanu •Bhora ngariponjeswe fuuuuu bhora musango Asijiki Tapanduka Zvamuchese•Bob kwaZvimba

  5. @ Bigaz uri ryt….the Jukwa project is serious MDCT infiltration in zanu, zanu yaiti yakangwara, kana Maziwisa iproject futi mungwarirei kkkkkk

  6. Zim eye give us real stories. Your journalism is poor to the maximum. I wonder if you have a qualified editor honestly your stories are a real disgrace. You have no facts, sad. Journalism is all about responsible and or honest reporting not mis leading topics.

  7. There’s nothing new about this story, there are many CIO in the uk, in Nottingham and Leeds are the highest number of operatives.
    Be Warned!

  8. Nothing shocking about the discovery. what makes you think that the driver had evil intentions? Every political party is somehow infiltrated by spies so you got no story to tell.

  9. Cheap reporting and politics. It’s foolish for mdc not to vet their so called confidants. They must wake up they must smell the coffee if u wake up and claim to be in politics be prepared to do the rest. Infiltrate and expect to be infiltrated if you think things will just happen forget and smile!

  10. Bluff all you can at least know soon not later zanu will be history. The citizens are not unconscious any longer. The hegemonic practices of dictatorship to suppress opposition and silence voices of different political opinion is reaching it’s end. If you want proof cast your eyes North of Africa and how the winds of political change have been sweeping. We have seen monarchs and dynasties disintegrate like eroding rocks! The same shall be the fate zanu -pf and their military juntas. They have been for some time embraced a false consciousness of immortality and seem to have lived the dream really with the perceived notion of being sacred “princes” to rule Zimbabwe to infinity. The bubble is nearing it’s tenure! Loud may be it’s stanching blast! Mugabe and zanu – pf are not killing the country, but dreams and aspirations of millions. A wreckage like him insisting to be re-elected. For what? Is about ego & legacy? Well your legacy happened in 1983-85 when your fifth brigade trained by North Korean instructors descended in Midlands, Matebeleland and butchered tens of thousands innocent civilians mainly women and children. With atrocities of the worse kind ever. Opening the womb of pregnant women with a two edged knife. Forcing men to lie in pile in a open grave before carpeting them with machine guns. Raping virgins daughters in the watch of their bleeding fathers and later kill the father. Setting homes alight and ask families to throw their nursing babies into scorching flames. Beating aged and vulnerable women in between legs till they profusely bled to death. Forcing sons into sex with their mothers. That was the worse traumatic experience ever in a free independent country. Why you did mr mugabe only you and your conscious know better. You have no soul and every ounce of persecution you inflicted on your political victims will be avenged on your children. They will visit your grave with boils all over their bodies and introduce the meaning of pain to you. They will visit your grave and tell you how history has forgotten you, but how history is repeated whenever people express their remembrance of how you made them feel. They will visit your grave to tell you how everyone has ushered into the new revolution with renewed hope and determination to embrace new and equal opportunities available for everybody. They will tell you about the just and fair society that has chosen to reconcile their difference for the sake of peace. They will even tell you that the reason for their suffering is not inflicted by anyone at all but is due to conviction and burden of guilty weighing on them as they have to share space not with the riches and comfort, but with the absolute truth about the evil of their truth. The shame of it all is that you cannot turn back the clock! A sad beginning and a sad ending that is your legacy mr mugabe!

  12. Manje zanu pf chaisingazive ndechekuti mu top league mavo even muma C10 mune maMDC-T hobho nehafu.

  13. Vice Chairman of ZANU Silence Chihuru. Silence’s story
Silence, from Zimbabwe, has set up the Africa Good Governance Lobby Group (AGGLG)
Silence Chihuri, 39, is a Zimbabwean refugee. As a key founding figure in the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), he knows fully the risks that come with opposition politics in Zimbabwe.
It is a risk not just confined to those actively involved in politics, but their immediate families as well. His life would be in grave danger were he to return to Zimbabwe.
Silence, who now lives in Falkirk, Scotland says political events in his home country and Africa in general have inspired him to set up the Africa Good Governance Lobby Group (AGGLG) to lobby for change in African systems of government.
He has also started hosting a radio programme, the African Forum with Radio Kilimanjaro the only African radio station in Scotland were the issues discussed are to do with governance, politics, parliamentary democracy in Africa. One day he would like to see an Africa with a different political landscape from what there is now.
    MDC treasurer
Speaking to the Scottish Refugee Council for their annual review Chihuri said, ‘I came here to study in early 2000, but I just wanted to study, finish my studies and go back home. But after I came here things turned for the worse politically and later on economically as well. By the time I’d finished my course things were really bad.
“By that point I was UK treasurer of the MDC and that was a very influential role – mainly a fund-raising and mobilisation post. There has always been this perception in Zimbabwe that all the people here in the UK were the ones who were funding or helping the case for the MDC or opposition politics in Zimbabwe. Even someone who went on holiday to Zimbabwe from Britain would be scrutinised, so being in Britain alone was reason for not going back.
“A lot of people became politicised when they came here, too because if your mother was telling you that your village was set on fire and your houses attacked, of course you will be politicised. People were getting pictured with banners saying terrible things about the Zimbabwean government. You’re angry, you’re emotional; you just pick a banner without thinking about it. And sometimes it is people like that who are now saying you know what, I can’t go back home and that is perfectly understandable.
    Forgotten country
“Unfortunately people in the West tend to forget the situation in Zimbabwe. It’s like when an earthquake happens and its big news, but people don’t know that it’s only afterwards when the quantification of the damage and the clean up process begins that the people’s misery actually starts.
“After the violence of the 2000 and 2008 elections most people thought things would get better on their own or at least after the inception of the largely meaningless Government of National Unity GNU. But things have never got better politically. There is marginal economic progress but there is still hardship and people are still struggle for healthcare and the education of their children
“My mother is still there and my two sisters are their families. My mother lives in the countryside now. And in 2008 she had to run away for several months, because she was targeted. They were targeting people with children in the UK as well. To be honest I’m afraid for everybody, not just my family. Right now the violence is spontaneous. You know if you’re living in Baghdad, a shell might land next to you whoever you are, an aid worker, a tourist, whatever. At the moment Zimbabwe is gearing up to become a war zone with the impending elections and the threats of violence from ZANU PF officials must never be ignored as these have been carried through before.
“I never, ever imagined I’d be here this long. I packed my suitcase and said well I’ll just go to study. I thought I’d get a better qualification and then go back and help develop my country. I never thought things would deteriorate the way they did. My son was born here, he’s now nine years old. He wants to go home but at the moment we have to tell him it’s not possible…
“The challenges refugees are facing now are very different from what they were in 1951, when the Refugee Convention was created. But being able to access protection is still very important. I may be OK but I am just one person. There are millions of people back in Zimbabwe and other parts of Africa who still need protection and help.
“My proposition for Africa in the long term is a complete departure from our current systems of government that create tension leading to people fleeing their countries. That is why I am now lobbying for good governance in Africa, governing for the people not against the people”

  15. ZA in Zanu pf means Zimbabwe African hameno kumberi, which means every Zimbabwean is a member. MDC is a movement its temporary will soon expire its best before 31 July and the T becomes irrelevent. Zimbabwe is forever.

  16. People should not forget that ZPF was once THE PARTY since 1980. That was then. The disillusionment that came saw the creation of other partiies opposing ZPF. As such people should concentrate on making the best of what is there. As for wives of opposition politicians it is a given that most eligible ladies came from the class created by ZPF though ideologicall they have nothing in common with their parents.

  17. Hazvina kana basa izvozvo it happens everywhere ndoo Politics dzacho..kana kwemuri kuupoteri hwe fake ikoko zvinotoitika zvakadarika izvi…Kana uri chituta haufi wakatonga nyika

  18. Not a shock at all. Tsvangirai used to sell ZANU pf cards in Trojan. He is a Mugabe project himself to reclaim Zim’s resources.
Look at how top guys from either party are absorbed when they claim to have defected from another party.
eg R. Benet wanted to represent Zanu pf in the 2000 elections only to join mdc after being outwitted by Munacho and Beta.
Look at Jonathan Moyo, the Marondera lady Tracy Mutinhiri,
No clear policies for the parties and new members.
so there is nothing shocking for mdc was a zanupf creation which became too big to handle but still being controlled by the creator. 3 days to go you will see.

  19. ZANU Pf has always been in the Uk,infact ZANU was in the Uk as early as the 1970 s. The aims and objectives of those in the Uk is to armtwist the opposition.Jeff Sango is also within the external structures of the party. There are a thousand plus membership in the Uk and next time I will print names of those who have been given residential plots in Rusape,Masvingo and Chinhoyi I will print the properties numbers as well.

  20. Welshman Ncube is a local example of the CIO infiltrators. Ncube is leading a wing of Zanu Pf under the guise of MDC. His supporters do not realise they are part of Zanu Pf.

  21. Every single party no matter how big or small it is, Zanupf has infiltrated it. It is their duty to do so to defend their clinging to power. Parties should have clear programs that cannot be diverted or hijacked by individuals serving their enemy or opponent. MDC-T is has plenty of Zanupf or CIO operatives including in its National Executive. The MDC led by Welshman Ncube also has plenty of them hiding behind tribalism or extreme anti-Tswangirai stances. Zapu has a lot of them too especially the hungry former Zipra guerrillas who are ready to receive anything form anyone to serve their empty bellies. Lovers, wives and husbands from rival camps are also used. The solution is that the leadership,if it is not itself a Zanupf in plant, must remain focused towards the objectives of the party. This will enable the party to identify those sabotaging the program.

  22. There are a lot of CIO operatives in the Uk most of which sought ‘asylum’. The whole idea was to spy on Zimbabweans. The evil with Zanu Pf is immense, so it now upto Zimbabweans to do away with Zanu Pf once and for all.
