(Tripoli)Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi who assumed power in a bloodless coup in 41 years ago has fallen.
Rebels entered the capital Tripol yesterday and it was confirmed Gaddafi’s sons Seif al-Islam and Al-Saadi surrendered to the rebels with other unconfirmed reports saying Gaddaffi too had been arrested.
The International Criminal Court who have been preparing Gaddafi’s trial confirmed the arrest of Gaddafi’s sons.
He is certain to face trial at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity as a warrant of arrest was issued in June.
Rebels were seen on live TV marching into Tripoli with many bowing their heads to kiss the hot ground in triumph, as others continously fired live rounds into the sky and waved in jubilation following a miraculous advance, the first ever over the nation’s longest serving and most hated dictator.
Meanwhile the British deputy prime minister Nick Clegg was quoted promising that Britain ‘will avoid the mistakes made in Iraq after the removal of Saddam Hussein’. (ZimEye)

  1. Zvese zvamuri kunyora nokufunga kutungana kwembudzi. Courage dzenyu dzazouya nhasi becoz of Gaddafi’s fall? Zvivindi zvenyu zvaivepi b4 Gaddafi’s fall? If u are so courageous why do u need NATO? While I dont support dictators, I also dont support the idea of having NATO in our country. As Bla Mik 2 said the Chinese are here if NATO dares to come. Of course the “LOOK EAST POLICY” will be paying dividends.

  2. @Zimson, young man, ziva zvekutamba nazvo. Wanyanya mafirimu mumusoro. What freedom will you have when all the schools the roads and hospitals have been reduced to rubble? Ivo vana vako vagoenda kuchikoro kupi after you are dead, vachiendeswa nani? You think for Harare to be what it is yakangomuka one morning yakadaro? What economic freedom is there to talk about after all the infrastructure is gone. Use your head and not your bottom to think. If you are so bold as you claim, go into the streets and cast the first stone since you are so ready to sacrifice yourself for the sake of your children. Nherera dzaunosiya unoti dzichachengetwa nani when all systems have been destroyed in the country? Take a good sober look at the Libya case young man. Kana wakamboenda kuchikoro even mbichana you will see the reality and think again. If its freedom you want, find other options, not to destroy our Harare, our country jst because you want your kids to view you as a hero. I even doubt that you are in Zimbabwe. If you are I also drink at Jazz 105 Fri & Sat evenings. Huya titaure, and I mean talk, you tell me your story I listen and I tell you mine and you listen.

  3. Don’t worry yourself Zimson if you really want to find me l will make it very simple for you. l always pass through the Jazz 105 daily after hours and you can simply tell me when and at what time you would want to meet me, l will be waiting for you. l will mince you mupfana iwe ukazonoudza vamwe kuti Bla Miki is the deadliest. Don’t play

  4. @ Bla Miki uri mboko uye uri gwara. Dai ndaikuziva ndaitanga newe. But someone will get to you, that much I know.

  5. @ KMA and Gaddafi, am with you all the way. And at KMA we should connect. Just talking without action wont do us any good. @ Mabhunumuchapera its high time you change your name to Malooters muchapera or Maoppressors muchapera. So you think our infrastructure is our life. We want freedom, political and economic and we want these thieves out of our offices. Now they are driving the latest luxury cars while we struggle for basics. We start with those who are supporting them and believe you me it wont be a one mann struggle. If we die at least our children will live a better life. Ko inga Mujuru afa wani, I am not going to live forever, I would rather die liberating myself rather thatn of hunger thinking these bastards liberated me.

  6. Uyo anorarama nebakatwa anofa nebakatwa. All dictators in history face humiliation at the end and they all die in agony. This is a true fact of life. It does not matter how much you oppress the people or how gifted you are in oration or how much power is around you, the fall is always spectacular. It’s only a matter of time.Zvakarongwa zvakadaro naMusikavanhu and noone can change it.There is always one option,”Quit” when you start smelling relations with the very people who put you in power in the first place are getting sour.

  7. @mabhunumuchapera.taurai henyu cde.remember sme of the pple who celebrated NATO’s involvement in their country actually died at the hands of the same NATO and their bombs.makapusa fani munofunga kuti hondo inoitirwa kusango.they will flatten our beloved Harare.zvakasiyana nekuona hondo paCNN kaizvi.be careful what u ask for.he he he NATO.panotoita civil war nekuti vamwe tinotobatawo gidi to fight NATO and those who side with it.those warmongers are repulsive and pure èvil

  8. Do any of you that condone whats happening in Libya watch TV & see the destruction in that country to date? How long will it take to rebuild? By the time the rebel regime has made just 20% progress in rebuilding, there will be another uprising of people who feel the new regime is taking too long to deliver. That country will be tattered for good. And you wish that for our beloved country. Seriously wishing for Nato to bomb Harare? And you are so sure they will also come to help you rebuild, the West that is? Nxa, mukawana nguva mutikwanirewo. Hamhuna zvamunoziva nezvehondo. Kana dzenyu dzanyatsokwana take time and revisit the Libya uprising video archives, then you will definitely think again, i.e. kana dzakakwana.

  9. Do not worry, now that Gaddafi has gone the Chinese will defend you against the West because these Chinese want your minerals, your diamonds and your land for themselves.

  10. Miki, chitiburahurauva, you and your mongrels in your house ot hut’s days are numbered!

  11. @KMA yes I agree with your sentiments, this is not being done for the sake of tsvangirayi, ncube, but rather for the greater good of the country. and we all owe our country something.the cio needs to be neutralised followed by senior army brass. however timing is everything. given we are now a year away from elections, this kind of action would give the regime an excuse to declare state of emergency and avoid elections under that pretext. it may be more prudent to let zanu destroy zanu.

  12. If Tswangirai comes to power as the French and other Western countries like, he will also be humiliated one day. Remember President Mugabe was knighted by the British even after Gukurahundi. He made a mistake of going to Congo to stablise the country when they wanted the government there to collapse and worse he took the land from their kith and kin in Zimbabwe. That was it. He must be humiliated. Unfortunately, there is no democracy even in his own party. It is difficult to support a system of outright looters whose children live in the U.K., in the U.S. in Canada and in Australia. Anyone who disagrees is an imperialist agent but he now starving economies of the West are desperate. We better find our own democracy. Tha

  13. Gaddafi is gone yes but with the West be assured that whoever comes in will alos be treared alike. All these who have been painfully eliminated were once their heroes. I mean the likes of Saddam of Iraq, the terrorist Alqaeda leader Osama Bin ,the pitiful Mubarak of Egypt who even sold out other Arabs and signed an agreement with Israel and today he is taken to court on a stretcher bed. Let Tswangira

  14. Itaka wega uprising yako iwewe ufe wega kuti uzvisunungure from hudzvinyiriri hwauri kutaura

  15. @ Miki….Let the politicians do and say what they like, it is us the PEOPLE on the ground who are struggling to send our kids to decent schools and trying to survive. When the masses eventuality erupt, it won’t be for Tsvangirai or any other politician. The masses will rise for their own freedom, freedom from tyranny….and they will choose they’re leader not one that’s thrust in their faces….NEVER AGAIN!!!!

  16. MDC recently welcomed the decision taken by Sadc on the roadmap to free and fair elections to be held in Zimbabwe after constitutional reforms.

  17. @ Zimson…..We must get in touch bro. All this talk and writing in front of our PCs is not helping anyone. They think, like Gadaffi and his sons once did that they’re untouchable. We shall see about that soon enough. Let me know if you truly believe and we can crack on and do something about this. You too Gadaffi….!!!!

  18. @ Gadaffi….I was ready to give my life yesterday, I am ready to give it today and I will still be ready to give it tomorrow. Keep in mind that I will NOT be giving my life for Tsvangirai, but for the FREEDOM of my kids….and YOURS!!!

  19. the logistics required for such an undertaking would be vast. as an alternative individual operators could focus on neutralising cio,zdf officers colonel and above. You are right we must be our own liberaotrs. Who is willing to give their life?

  20. It doesnt start with NATO. It starts with us. I agree with KMA 120%. Lets start with their dogs. They live among us and we know them. Those should be our starting point. They have to know that we are ready to fight for our freedom and we will kill to get it. YES WE WILL KILL.

  21. @ Gadaffi…..I concur, but before any of this assistance from NATO we the masses must make the first move. Are you willing to sacrifice YOUR life tomorrow for a free Zimbabwe??? If your answer is “Yes” then anything is possible. We can achieve the “unthinkable” if we put our tribal differences aside and fight for one common goal…..FREEDOM!!!!

  22. CIO building first target for NATO, then all senior ZDF personnell colonel and above neutralise, then game on!

  23. No matter – regardless what Libyans win or lose by gaining true independence we as zimbabweans also want to be free of mugabe regime

  24. The sad reality is that these rebels will facilitate the wholesale looting of libyan oil.Libya’s economic situation was lyk ths, minimum wage 600 dinar or US 500,free housing and free education.Every newly married couple was entitled to USD 50 000 from the gvt.libyan students who chose to study outside the country were entitled to have their tuition and accomodation paid 4 by the libyan gvt on top of a USD 1500 monthly allowance.i hope the new rebel gvt will be able to maintain this standard.Because knowing these western gvts who have helped them into power the new gvt will be told to cut gvt’s social spending.im still sceptical.Gaddafi kuHague,Bush hazvina basa zvekuHague bcoz muAmerican.Only African murderers should be tried.plus we are going to have another US military base in Africa.Hurray!!! hazvifadzi here izvi

  25. First NOTO missile ngarinongedzere ku CIO Heardquarters then next one ku Borrowdale compound yaBhobho. Tamirira kuti nguva isvike chopazi!

  26. Uriii seka zvako muera shumba.vakomana zvemafanizi aya itai kuHarvest House.any country which allows NATO to house its army or military equipment for any attack on Zimbabwe becomes a legitimate target for the ZDF.ndeipi nyika yacho iyoyo?Botswana?inoparadzwa.Zim is a different kettle of fish.Itai zvemaelections kwete zvemarebellion zvamunopembedza izvi.

  27. What wonderful and welcome news to start this week with. May Mugabe please be next without delay because we have just had enough of his oppresion.
I agree Guvnor evil and oppression can never win over a united people. In our beautiful Zimbabwe it is only a matter of time. They must start by crushung the CIO headquarters. MUGABE IS GOING!

  28. Oh…..if only we in Zimbabwe were half as brave we would’ve long broken the chains of oppression from our aged dictator and his cohorts. Even the Malawians and the BaSotho are trying….but us??? If only…..!!!!

  29. Muppets of zanu your days are surely numbered, your bum chum Gaddafi has met his due fate. Eventually the people will always win no matter how much you hurt them.

  30. It is a good lesson for all of us as Africans. Do we need the Western military planes to bomb the incumbent president out of office? Why do we not get our own methodes of changing power from one of our own to a fellow brother or sister peacefully at least rather than rejoicing at the humiliation of a fellow African with the help of the West? It was clear that Muammar would not succeed in resisting NATO power. Democracy would be his legitimate weapon. Military backed legitimacy collapses militarily no matter how long it may take. In our country we need to accept democfracy and shun tribalism and regionalism. Whereas I want freedom from the ruling murderous looters of our time, I do not like to be liberated by the people I spent 7 years carrying a gun against. They will be freeing me from my fellow country men who are just greedy, arrogant, murderous and economic looters, my very own. How do I celebrate? This is very sad indeed.

  31. Today I m going to drink 10 pints of cold beer (within 2hrs) in cellebration for Gaddafi’s capture. When Mugabe leaves office, I will drink 20pints within the same period.

  32. Bla Miki, zvarwadza ka?
George Bush never massacred his own people, and he never attacked civilian planes, but your Gaddafi who by right should be referred to as THE REBEL did more than that. Time to face the music comrade, kikikikikikki!

  33. So these people who overthrew a legitimate government are correctly being referred to as rebels? And this IC, when will it begin the trial of George Bush who should be charged with the same offences and should not be allowed to defend himself?

  34. Mugabe is NEXT kikikikikikikik, Cde Choya i gues we are together on this. The sun is just going down fast for BLOODY DICTATORS!!!
