Up to 250 people converged in Mabvuku on Saturday at the weekend.

He told ZimEye soon after the rally:
“The crowd is growing,” he said.
We meet with the disabled and widows of the area and the level of unemployment, poor housing, and healthcare is sad.”
Mawere said that the 250 figure does not include the leadership.
Mawere`s UMD party which was started at the end of December last year, hopes to become the next big name in Zimbabwean politics to challenge Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai.
Mutumwa Mawere who has accepted the nomination stated however that the party was not started by him as claimed in some media circles.

  3. I know Ashirai from Avondale, he is a blooody liar. Those pple dont look 250 at all.

  4. Its a game of democracy. MDC and Zanu Pf political oligopoly has failed to solve the country’s problems.
29 parties is a vote of no confidence in our current political set up vs people’s needs.
On a sad note this is a sign, we Zimbabweans we are failing to be honest people. Why is it difficult for us to agree on fundamentals to move the country forward.
Even a meeting of 10 people comes to an ending without solid deliverables. Some people take leadership because of popularity and not competency.
We are destroying our country through endless arguments and opportunism. We have agricultural land, diamonds, gold and educated people plus our cultural wealth.
Why are we wasting an incredible resource base through arguments and polarisation of ideas.
If it takes unity of Zanu Pf and MDC to move the country forward so let it be. We are all Zimbabweans, let us come together to make Zimbabwe a great country. Let the best leaders take cabinet posts, we can have a parliamentary democracy. For progress we need national unity and a collective agenda. Divided we will not only fall but we will fail to use the best we already have for prosperity. Zimbabwe is the greatest country in the world.

  5. its better for mawere to join MDC-T,kwete kuda kutibhowa, thats nonsense ngaende kunoita President kunyika yakatiza achienda.he is a foolish man

  6. We sick and tired with stupid greed people, who claim to have educational degrees, thy sit quietly in other countries looking at Tsvangirayi battling with Mugabe and his ZANUpf risking jail and death, when they see that things are calm they are to select a leader now they rush to compete TSVANGIRAYI,fooling people that they having a better education than Tsvangirayi. But Tsvangirayi bought down a roaring loin Robert Mugabe and his ZANUpf to this level several times in our face while they scare to point out mistakes done by Robert Mugabe and his party. Look at Arthur Mutambara he was siding to give zanu pf power when they drafting the GPA and look now at Madhuku he knows how brutal the security is and the harassment, intimedation and killings they do but he oks that,it looks like he is now on a zanu pf payrooll, and just look at Mawere zanu pf grabed his Shabanie mine he failed to take it back but now he is used to divide people so that the ZANUpf can win these degree holders and proffesors are real fools, bacause they don’t the use of their education they think that to be a President and steal thats to use education.
