The notorious leader of the War Veterans association Jabulani Sibanda has embarked on an intensive terror campaign in Manicaland threatening villagers with war if they do not vote for Zanu PF, ZimEye can exclusively reveal.
More than 400 village headmen were yesterday (Thursday) summoned to a Sabhuku’s meeting in Rusape which they had been falsely told would be a special community summit to officiate crucial villagers’ concerns.
It was only upon arriving that the headmen were surprised to find ZANU PF strongman the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and the party’s Secretary for Administration, Didymus Mutasa, the Chisumbanje Green Fuel company Billy Rautenbach’s anchorman Basil Nyabadza, flanked by the infamous Jabulani Sibanda leading proceedings at the meeting.
The gathering was summoned by Chief Makoni who is the community-head over the entire area.
All the food consumed by 400 people at the meeting including beef from a slaughtered bull was donated by Basil Nyabadza who has been dishonorable for dishing out thousands of hectares of farmlands to Billy Reutenbach ( a Zanu PF ally) through a violent displacement of defenceless poor villagers in the process. While Zanu PF is strongly against the white community, Reutenbach has remained a top ally for all seasons and seems to call the shots at his convenience.
In the meeting, Didymus Mutasa issued a directive to Chief Makoni to ensure that every headmen should immediately document all villagers from the age 13 to 36.
“I don’t know what he intends to do with the list”, ZANU PF officials present at the meeting told ZimEye.
He actually told them :”Masabhuku ndimi makatidyisa last time, saka this time toda kukuisai patight.” – You headmen triggered our loss last time, so this time we are pushing you into a tight corner, Mutasa said.
He then tasked Chief Makoni that he must make sure every village head has a documented list of villagers aged 13 to 36 years who must be fully documented.
The headmen however soon replied pleading that the task was too insurmountable for them. In response, the ZANU PF delegation ordered that stationery be bought to facilitate the operation as every person would be audited to see which party he or she may have voted for. Any findings from that audit could then bring consequences.
It is speculated that the documented villagers could be employed as foot soldiers at election time.
Enters Jabulani Sibanda
Jabulani Sibanda soon then took centre stage and began to issue threats that any headman who does not coordinate ZANU PF votes in the upcoming elections will be expelled. Stuttering in broken Shona, Sibanda who spoke for a longer time than the rest told the Sabhukus that they will be expelled from the ancestral posting if they do not follow instructions to force villagers to vote for ZANU PF.
Zvedzinza hazvina basa, we can still remove you at any time, Sibanda threatened the headmen.
They were also told that their lives would be made difficult – in a direct reference to violence which has left many of the headmen disturbed. Many of the headmen have revealed their fears but voiced concern that their lives would be in danger if they were discovered.

Dear reporter if you are concerned about the plight of the defenceless masses in Manicaland and elsewhere in Zimbabwe just assure them that power is in their vote at the moment. There is a GNU now because of the vote. No matter what Jabulani or Mutasa says the people must just vote for what they want. Nothing will happen after the vote. Sensational reporting has caused confusion because now the international community does not know what to believe as reporters fabricate stories of intimidation. Remember if the 400 villagers went to that meeting as members of Zanupf, Jabulani and Mutasa were talking to their supporters. I dont belong to Zanupf and truely speaking none of them has ever openly just threatened me.
