South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma has refused to speak on Zimbabwe’s contentious elections despite the country’s evident failure to uphold its own Electoral laws amid widespread allegations of vote tampering reported by the Zimbabwe Election Support Network(ZESN).
While some reports stated South Africa’s President actually said the MDC parties must prove their claims of vote rigging, Zuma’s spokesman Mac Maharaj, told ZimEye in an interview Thursday night, Pretoria will comment only after receiving the SADC team’s full assessment report on the elections.

MDC should provide the proof...Zuma
MDC should provide the proof…Zuma

“You are aware that there is an official SADC observer mission. We are part of the SADC community; we have a component in the SADC and we are part of the SADC observer mission. We need to get a proper report from them before we make any announcements. It would be premature for us to make any pronouncements at this stage. So we are noting developments and we will wait for the SADC report. ”
Zuma’s response came just after Zimbabwe concluded its national elections which have been disputed after the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission withheld the voters’ roll only releasing a paper copy at the last minute amid various reports of youths being bussed to polling centres. Other problems note were on alleged duplications in the voters’ roll.

  1. Why did Tsvangirai participate if he knew it was a rigged process? At what point did he know? At the point he lost?
Tsvangirai lost his position as a credible alternative leader for Zimbabwe when he became a sex addict. All he wants is to sleep with women without a condom and advocate gay rights. What kind of a leader is that? What kind of example is he to our youth?
Zimbabweans are smart enough to reject a person like that in the highest office.
UK and US should find a more decent puppet to represent their MDC party. Otherwise they are pouring money in the drain.

  2. I would mainly like to draw attention to one thing. If the vote really reflects the democratic choice of Zimbabwe then only something like 23% of the people wouldn’t be happy with the result, does that seem at all realistic with all the murmurs and calls of fraud? How people can come and say it was a fair election I don’t know… South Africa, send in your media. Europe, send in your media. Oh, sorry, I forgot that all media is just short of banned in Zimbabwe (that is to protect its citizens from colonialism and western brain-washing of course). And to those ignorant people who comment here and say Zuma shouldn’t be involved, why not?? We have no voice in Zimbabwe, we haven’t since 2000! Its Zuma’s opportunity to be the salvation of a nation, stand up, and speak for us. Say the words that are on the tips of every Zimbabwean’s cut off tongue! Maybe 18 years since your own struggle has given you time to forget that exercising freedom of speech can be a threat to your life.

  10. @jongwe we know you are a Zanu Pf criminal benefitting from the misery of Zimbabweans. Keep thieving we will get you ok

  11. Zanu apologist Blessing Miles Tendi says every government in SADC including Zimbabwe rigs elections with maybe a few exceptions like SA. The recycled military dictator turned pseudo democrat Obasanjo says in Africa you can’t expect elections to be perfect, you have to accept the blatant corruption as part of life. Why should this be acceptable in Africa? How is Africa going to be taken seriously and respected if she refuses to respect herself? As for those who like to harp on about high literacy levels, you have been sold a ruse by the UN – news flash that does not equate to intellect as evidenced by any lack of meaningful “home grown” development & solutions for prosperity in the past 33yrs (even if you count diesel from the rocks) and eloquently confirmed by those who allowed be bribed for $10 & slices of bread to help rig the ballot.

  12. @Nkunzi
Listen here South African girl, even your President is refraining from commenting on the Zimbabwean elections,
You know nothing about Zimbabwe besides the fact that there are Zimbabweans who are taking all the office jobs that side in South Africa.
You say it is difficult for you to go and work in Capetown when you stay in Durban – that is simply because you all used to being spoon fed, you see a grown a.s.s South African man still staying with his monther at 40 years of age, what would you expect from such idiocy.
Tina we can leave home as young as 18 years of age and go work in Russia, that is how we do it. we aint scared of nothing and we also do conquer where ever we go.
So stop mendling in non of your business and start going to further your eductaion inorder to be as competent and us.

  13. If its ture that Zimbabweans Voted for the rulling party named Zanu, I would suggest that they have enough jobs in their country, simply they have to be banned and deprived of any work opportunities in the SA and Botswana and even from the overseas, and also they must have their own surpplus of food supply which makes food and other resources be very expensive in South Africa,I believe there are no investors interested in the regime and economy of Zim, they dont have their official currency, they have been using our ZAR not sure if they were permitted to use but I doubt 100%,
I therefore move that SADC must investigate this and re-check if there are no duplicates and that there are no deceased candidates in the voters’ roll, for thats might be the proximate error, also to consider that there was no previous report that police officers didnt get ballots for voting in their special time but the report only pops on majority voting day, also people who had voting slips in their hands and were deprived of voting as they say their names were not on the voting list especial on the Matebeleland region (BYO) and they were sent back without making a vote and also those who were denied entries in the boarder post esp in Beitbridge.
If this wont be considered,we will see no fairness from the SADAC and would move that the selected team to be dissolved for it will simply show no truth and that justice doesnt exist but only to the poor but not to them and that they were so blinkered to and incompetent to be the on the observing team.
Further more, note that there is no one in earth that will like to be under oppression and staying away from his home country, its even difficult to be in capetown for work when u are just from Durban.
Well lets see if fairness prevails or its only from God.

  16. Free and fair elections? What a load of pure and utter rubbish. Zimbabwe has never and will never have any free and fair election until Bob and the ZANU-PF thugs are gone, forever. Never. Never. Never. They cannot and will not let the people have their say because they don’t believe the people of Zimbabwe should have a say in who governs them. They treat us like children because we allow them to treat us like children. While we try to vote, they loot. They have always looted, and they will continue to loot. Loot diamonds. Loot taxes. Loot, loot, loot. LOOTING is their game, and they are so good at it they confuse it with GOVERNING. No need to say anymore. This is ultimately not about ZANU or Bob or MDC or Tsvangirai but about OUR inability and unwillingness to build a FREE, OPEN, CIVILISED society governed by the RULE OF LAW. Look at us. Look at Zimbabwe. Proud? Free? Fair? We have NO DIGNITY, NO HONOUR LEFT – except those that benefit fromth e looting. They don;t care. They don’t give a shit abotu Zimbabwe or zimbabweans or elections or any such baleoney. We are the laughing stock of the world. Free and fair elections? What a load of &^%^**&&

  17. @Zwide, Those loads of trucks you are talking about are not selling the food to Zanu PF or MDC, they are strictly conducting business.
the Zim companies they are selling to are probably some of their biggest clients and in Business if you dont know you try and accomodate your major clients as long as they still require suppliers.
Also the payment is made in US dollars.
so your baseless statements are mere speculation.
please if you have nothing to say just shut your mount.

  18. Well, you can write proper english because of the eductaional system ZANU PF kept in place,
you cannot marry another man which the President himself made sure of.

  19. @la liga everyone is sad including staunch Zanu pf supporters. We will soon revert to BURNING Zim Dollars. Cash and food shortage is looming. I am told heavy trucks and companies which bring food from South Africa will soon boycott Zimbabwe because they can not sweat for Zim dollars. Zimbabweans will not stand any more. This indeed is self inflicted.

  20. May I truly say this country has been relegated to remain in the domain of bandits who do not respect the rule of law but who are bent on running the country through corrupt ways? The rigging of this election started with the Chidyausiku led Concourt which refused Zimbabweans to experience an election under clear transparent environment. Mugabe as a corrupt leader and an expert in con games rushed these elections so as to utilize the highly skilled rigging machinery led by Bandit Chidyahusiku. Rita Makarau was also sucked into this mafia style administration. The Special vote was the kingpin to this rigging. The will of the people of Zimbabwe has been caged by bandits. Zimbabweans are going to pay dearly because of this action by bandits. Bandits have nothing to lose as they will print Zim dollars on daily basis and use this to still people’s wealth.

  21. Firstly,i would like those in zanu pf to tell me the achievements they made in 5 year periods.eg1980-85,85-90,90-95,95-2000,2000-up to date.there were programs that were instituted by zanu pf,the 1983 resettlement drive was 100% correct.then came esap, that one failed dismally, the black friday of november 1997.the fast track land reform in 2000,then came the rigging on a massive scale up to date.i only mentioned a few.in terms of industrial collapse, its’ pathetic.where is csc, dairibord, nrz, air zim, zisco steel.where is health for all by the year 2000.we are now beyond 2000 ,where are we.where is vision 2020.what are they to offer which is new.if they failed in the past.if somebody could answer my questions for the cited examples.

  22. No problem, I will just continue enjoying my Texas beers which miserable Bla Miki and his Mugabegay will never lick for the next 100 years kikikiki!

  23. Okay okay marigga mukahwina henyu ehe. Chigadzirisai economy nyika inake ndizvo zvirikudiwa nevanhu. Chiregai kuba madiamonds moisawo mari yacho muma gvt coffers.

  24. Please stop blaming South Africa for your problems. Really? what do you expect Zuma to do? You have let the tyrant to ruin your lives for more than 20 years, why are you blaming Zuma?

  25. Greydog did I not ell you that you are useless. You found Mukadota and Makwembere campaigning for their sellout outfit and you came with your rectlessness insulting everybody except yourself, now you have ran away leaving the two guys to start afresh alone. Mafikizolo so. Dzi pa statehouse kikikiki.

  26. Goodmorning MDC T, a very good morning to you Editor, La Ligodzva, Makwembeimbwa, Mukadog, Mbwa Jozadog, and a very very good morning to you all my fellow comrades in arms. Many thanks to our prolific strikers for harvesting many goals. Many thanks to you all Zimbabwean for rejecting in totality the demon and its angels. Yours truly Bla Miki

  27. the only thing is to accept defeat….for five years in the government of national unity.. you didn’t learn its tricks how to do things…learn guys to accept defeat…your leader was campagning insulting the electrolate…calling little puppies-(ZIMBWANANA) Zimbabwean are not foolish people…they know the culprit who declared SANCTIONS on them…is TSVANGIRAYI….so no one can vote such a stupid IDIOT….please accept DEFEAT…THERE IS NO GOING BACK,ELECTION RESULTS WILL STAND LIKE THAT…and what you must learn from today you stupid MDC-T supporters is that MDC-T is finished….in five years time from now there shall-be a new creature with a different name…BELIEVE ME not Tsvangirayi……

  28. I am pained I must say. ZanuPF has stolen the mandate to run this country now they have
1 The mandate to rob foreigners of their sweat
2 the mandate for ZRP to keep looting us on the roads
3 the mandate to bring back those queues again
4 the mandate to destroy our children’s future
5 the mandate to give China more gold and diamonds in exchange for weapons to suppress us
6 the mandate to create more vendors
7 The mandate to torture us
9 the mandate to abduct us
10 the mandate to destroy the infrastructure
11 the mandate to live in their first world houses in a stone age country.

  29. sadc are waiting to see, then they have to decide not just on the election but international backlash.it will not be easy to prove the fraud of registra general.but the truth will surface.this rushed election was planned for rigging.

  30. why do you go about reporting unproven allegations then at the same time report that so and so lost (chiyangwa for example)if you are really serious about the elections being a farce…so people lose if they are zanu pf and if some of them win it suddenly becomes a rigged election…also dont expect any mature leader to make comments based on premature and unfounded allegations like you do, real people are patiently waiting for the SADC mission’s report before they criticise them

  31. nxa mugabe is clever, obasanjo was on holiday because gunshots are all over in nigeria but in zim there is nothing like that, he saw a peaceful zim coz he knowz real war, mugabe can arrange all his friends to team leaders of the observer teams and tell them to chooose their loyal subordinates. all those observers were vetted before accreditation so zim if you think you ever topple mugabe by a vote you need to think again izvi zvaakuda imwe nzira.few african countries in africa got democracy peacefully, they had to get into the streets why not zim, we are saints.anyway ndozviripo vehama, baba jukwa toitasei nevanhu ava because vakutozovharisa makambani edu asara aya…..

  32. Right now we need proof of rigging unless if you say there was a bias in the manner of voting but rigging we need proof. On the one hand all those sexual excursions by Tsvangirai did not do good to his image and credibility as leader. If i had voted for Tsvangirai it would have been for the sake of getting Mugabe out , not that i believed in MDC-T.

  33. All along Tsvangirai was quoted beaming with confidence about victory, all of a sudden the election is a farce because it didnt go his way?,Harare urbanites vote was allegedly neutralised by people bussed in from peri-urban areas, hameno but I think you need more than 10 overloaded buses to make a mere 1000 votes assuming all the passengers are loyals
Tsvangirai must have done what he knows best, boycott !,”now he appears foolish because of flip flopping, something Bob has capitalised on to decampaign him, hopeless slogan Bhora Musango is indeed a prophesy of doom.
TB Joshua, mmmhhh now am a believer

  34. I was a special voter and we were instructed to vote as much as we can for Zanu Pf. Although this was unorthodox i voted six times at two different polling stations in the rural areas. There were several ways of voting, use of special voting right, use of registration slip, use of chemical like iodine to remove ink and getting in uniform was sufficient to vote. I feel guilty but we were promised jobs in the police.

  35. I strongly believe that Zuma cannot comment on the happenings considering that he has his full of EEF allegedly sponsored by the goons. Obviously he is having sleepless nights as Marema is haunting him in his walks and that is if he sleeps with one eye open.

  36. Sorry forum, who won the Makokoba constituency? Also is Welshman Ncube still in the ring or has been dusted into oblivion? What of the thick headed Dabengwa?

  37. Zimbabwe, the temptation to remain in yesterday is greater for many of us, even after elections we may feel overwhelmed by a situation of uncertainty. We need courage to imagine a beautiful future. Let’s not look back and wish for yesterday for tomorrow will bring better promises for everyone. Let’s draw the curtain on a past where we fought each other just because we choose to belong to parties with different names.
Our blessed country demands people who cherish peace, like one Cherokee chief said, “I seek strength not to be greater than my brother but strength to fight my greatest enemy- myself”. If we must fight lets fight to agree on constructive issues. Let’s fight to be the first to help orphans and provide relief to people suffering in hospitals.
As the morning sun rises so must our purpose be new and bright. We must do that which earns us respect as true citizens, people who come together to secure hope in uncertain times. Let us put our minds together and see what future we can carve for every Zimbabwean.
May God’s peace fill our hearts and confound our purpose

  38. Zuma’s position of not wanting to comment before getting a report from the SADC Mission is the correct position. What the MDCs should do is to present their reports to SADC and AU observers who are in the country.

  39. Zimbabweans my heart is heavy as l write this. We might be on our way to a failed attempt at democratisation. Sadc and the AU are not going to run this country for us. We need to do it ourselves. We need to build our democracy from within this country, this land of ours, Zimbabwe. The culture of greed that we are currently feeding is growing and it will swallow our young democracy for good. The results that have been announced so far point to a loss to the people of Zimbabwe and victory to an individual. Is the lot of those who are said to have voted overwhelmingly for Zanu PF going to be any better, say, six months from now, no!! Is the economy going to be any better, no!! Is the international community going to give us its goodwill, no!! Is China going to continue looting our resources (diamonds)YES!!! Are we likely to return to food, fuel and electricity shortages Yes!!! This is what we should have considered before we wasted that VOTE!!!!

  40. The rigging started with nikuv.
    Questions
how were they paid ? Diamond money.
Is the cio siphon diamond money into a slush fund designed to perpetuate zanu?
What isr the relationship between nikuv/cio and mossad ? To what extent are mossad ultimately responsible gor this

  41. Does Zim leadership ever care to comment on South African elections among Africans? NO!

  42. What is Zuma to say ….. PREMATURELY?
Is Zimbabwe a province of South Africa?
Is South Africa a colonialist entity?
Or is South Africa ruled with those steep in the African (and Asian) culture principle of NON-INTERFERENCE?
Those who are created and FUNDED and brainwashed by the inimically interfering dev!ls of Europe, are forgetting that in Africa, interfering in the affairs of a neighbor IS A CARDINAL SIN!

  43. zuma is no different from mbeki.his true colours might be starting to show.zimbos ever heard of thymolphthalein & phenolphthalein? Can u do a chemical analysis of ballot materials
