We are clear on this - Nelson Chamisa

(Birmingham)The MDC-T party does not condone homosexuality, the party’s organising secretary, who is also Zimbabwe’s minister of Information and Technology, Nelson Chamisa has said.
Speaking at a recently held rally in Birmingham on Saturday, Chamisa said that his party is very clear on the subject of homosexuality. Said Chamisa:
“We are clear on this. Very clear. We don’t believe that a man should marry another man. We dont believe that a woman should marry another woman. We believe that God created men and women for a particular reason. In fact you know Soddom and Gommorrah were actually candidates for destruction because of doing exactly that. But we are also conscious of the fact that we should not be the judge of people’s character. In as much as we feel it is not good for a man to marry another man, let the choice be an individual’s choice …let the people’s be the people’s choice.”
He said that Morgan Tsvangirai has been consistent on this thorny matter.
“That is what the president has always said. He clarified this it all over again…,” he said.
Chamisa’s comments follow recent controversies which were triggered last year after Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and leader of the party, claimed to a BBC journalist that gay rights will be supported in Zimbabwe’s constitution. This was interpreted as a contradiction to Tsvangirai’s earlier declarations.
Chamisa was responding to questions directed to him by journalists in Birmingham on Saturday. (ZIMBABWE, ZimEye)

  1. Segregation, division, inequality, vanity, superiority is what turned Zim into the mess that it is today.
White, black, mixed race, shona, ndebele, gay, lesbian, short, tall, dark, light etc…WE ARE ALL ZIMBOS.
Love your brother, for his sins in this world are ONLY for God to judge. Whatever religion you are. I may not like what you say or think or do…but I do not hate you, I will not chase you away, I will not kill you..you are my brother, my sister.
As long as we find excuses for us to be divided we will never be ONE nation.
And Zimbabwe…we need each other more than ever.
Until we learn this, things will never change and we will all die in the same hell, despite who you love

  2. If you are a christian Chando I thnk u wld understand the msg clearly bcoz th bible says the judgement is not for you….Just make sure u doing the right thng so tht wn th same scenario like tht of Sodom & Gomora is to b repeated u wll b caught on th ryt side of the law…..I salute Chamisa zvangu

  3. Just like there are corrupt people in both ZANU PF and the MDCs, there are also gays and lesbians but that does not make it right.
It remains a sickness, a crime and an evil as much as it is a “choice”. But wrong choices have to be dealt with thoroughly.
GOD said it and that settles the matter:
ADAM AND EVE; NOT ADAM AND STEVE!! Period.

  4. saka wati chii nhai chamisa handiti munoona kuti murive ma double standards you say no and @ the same tym moti yes indirectly….

  5. That is why Bla Miki the profession is called Politics, you mould your policy around popular opinion, values and interests of society dictate the calibre of the electorate. We are sick and tired of your beloved party purporting to be liberators when in fact they are the worst hypocrites. Let people decide what they want in the constitution than to make a lot of noise about this issue.

  6. Forgive Chamisa he was caught btwn two rolling stones. He cld not attack directly attack the ideology of his partie’s financial backers whl at the same time he wanted to avoid a collision wth the electorate bck home. The ppl in Zimbabwe even Binga an MDC strong hold ar sayin it shld be illegal to practice gayism .simple.accept Gays Gweks and others.

  7. People hv right to personal choice as long as thy r not breakn the law!get it. Wat does these thick human pricks gt to do wit it yet they dnt respect human rights thmselves.

  8. Mbanje smoking is also personal choice, stealing is personal choice, corruption and many other crimes are all individual choices and yet day in day out people gets arrested for those crimes committed through individual choice, so whats so special about homos? Mdc is still very neautral and given chance, they would advocate for homosexuality contrary to what they are saying here. The tragedy is that many people blindly follow this puppet party regadless of several shortcomings and contradictory statements.

  9. He is not contradicting himself Bla Miki you moron, even transsexuals…Ooops shemales like you have rights too. Contradictions is when parties like PF make a lot of noise about homosexuality when the whole lot of them are butty boy lovers like you Bla Miki.

  10. Eish! Papa Wembwa is allowed to insult others by Zimeye? I totally agree with you Cde Chando on your observation. Chamisa here is saying to those who may so wish to be gays or lesbians, let them do so for we can’t judge others!! In other words he is saying homosexuality is a human right and should be allowed. Chamisa is therefore contradicting himself when he says mdc is against homosexuality and then says but the if individuals indulge in this act they should never be judged. Wise leadership will say: No to homosexuality, period. There is nothing like being born a homosexual just as there is no one born with a dirty mind. Every country has its laws and if Zimbabweans say NO to the devil’s pride, those who may choose to ignore should simply be arrested just like the mbanje or drug dealers or like any other criminals. The problem with mdc is, they can’t say that here in Shona or Ndebele but chooses to speak about it in the UK.

  11. As soon as man was created in this old world,Laws were put down on what you are supposed to do and vice versa.Adam was told not to partake of the forbidden fruit or he shall surely die.Making a choice can take place but the question remainds,is it the right choice? You can chose to be gay but you will pay the price for your choice.

  12. People amaze me, what’s with this “personal choice” argument? How many things are just not tolerated even bearing personal choice in mind? Can you casually have sex with your cousin or sister, your own mother? Can you have sex with a 15 year-old, even consensual? Can you have sex with a goat and claim that it was consensual and a personal choice (we’ve seen this happen)? Then where do you draw the line?
Zimbos have been adept at normalizing the abnormal, we’ve seen it all, cash shortages, a billion % inflation, broad daylight election theft, daily blackouts, cholera deaths, HIV scourge, you name it, Zimbos have seen all the s**t on this planet, but one s**t we are not prepared to smell is this ngochani nonsense, personal choice my foot! first it was “we were born like that” now it’s “personal choice”, so which is it? is it a lifestyle, fashion, a disease? what exactly is this gay business then?

  13. Chando mai vane magaaroo seebere.hw dare u vomit words to your superiors.shiitt.matha ff+ucker.

  14. ndosaka wamugabe tichiwada havabvumire ngochani kana muchida izvozvo endai kulandani ndokune izvozvo kwete muno

  15. We must note that homosexuality could be genetical who are we to change natural make up. Intolarance goes hand in hand with dictactorship. I dont forsee how a homo can offend my culture, anywhere most of the zanu guys opposing homos are known to practice it at night

  16. I dont like homos but that must make interfer with other human sexual preferences and orientation

  17. Fulfilment of end times…no to homos, thus not the change we want.if u want it,go 2 other countries which allow it.we won’t follow u nomatter how usefull u are 2 the community,we can always find someone to replace you.

  18. IS THIS DIFFICULT 2 UNDERSTAND,TOLERANCE IS THE PSSWRD HERE;But we are also
conscious of the fact that we should
not be the judge of people’s
character. In as much as we feel it
is not good for a man to marry
another man, let the choice be an
    individual’s choice …let the people’s
    be the people’s choice.”
He said that Morgan Tsvangirai has
    been consistent on this thorny
    matter.

  19. This guy is contradicting himself and his boss as well.He says “let the choice be an individual’s choice” what choice? Yechingochani? That choice should never be allowed. In other words he is simply saying those indulging in this practice should be left alone. No ways we will not allow that to happen. Mkooshoo une dova Popi Yembwa.

  20. We say no to homos like ngochani Gweks and his/her kamarads Buttface, Falega etc. Yes, your foolish rants will not change anything, it will never make us accept you & your ilk, infact you will be worse off because you harden our resolve.
Infact this gay issue should be included in the constitution but as a criminal offence. Sthabanes like Gweks can then continue doing whatever it is they think they can do at their own risk and not trying to openly corrupt our children.. so you want our children to be disgusting gays like u?

  21. If u say no to homo in Zimbabwe then u are just wasting your time why do u need to change a vis major thing, if i have a feeling for another man, iye anewo ma feelings towards me zvashatei iwe wabatwa batwa nei, let it sink into ur skull, u cant dictate my life, lets all wait for judgement day. Let me stop here for now coz even if i rantle it doesnt change anything, some pple who makes noise abt this issue they are gay, their chn are gay oooh kuhumana. Kunaka hakunakirwani.

  22. MDC is a principled party,a local initiative, based on good african values. To thoz who wanted to put words into Tsvangi u hv heard 4 yor self.MDC hates homo homo.zanu its only R G Mgabe who hates homo but all others(including Chando) condone homo.
