MISS Germany 2012 Martina Ivezaj will grace this year’s edition of the Miss Global Zimbabwe beauty pageant to be held at Harare International Conference Centre next month.
In an interview with our correspondent, the pageant’s president Tare Munzara confirmed Ivezaj will be among the judges at the pageant.
“This year we are planning big at the second edition of Miss Global Zimbabwe beauty pageant with a lot of surprises. Miss Germany 2012, Martin Ivezaj, will be joining us as one of the guest judges among others whom we are yet to announce,” Munzara said.
The pageant that will be running under the theme “Beauty, Tourism and Charity” is slated for April 27.
The winner of the pageant will go and represent the country at the Miss Global International to be held in Nigeria in September.
According to organisers of the event, tickets will be available nationwide from next week and will be selling at $20 for ordinary seats while VIP will be going for $50 with VVIP pegged at $100.
Last year Mutsa Mutare won the pageant while Mellissa Chaka and Cynthia Moyo were crowned Miss Heritage and the second princess respectively.
For winning the title, Mutsa went to represent the country in Jamaica for the world finals where she made it into top 15 out of 50 countries while Chaka went to South Africa for the Miss Heritage pageant. Miss Global Zimbabwe is an annual tourism and charitable developmental beauty pageant.
It is owned by Miss Global Zimbabwe organisation franchise holders under Miss Global International based in Jamaica.
According to organisers of the pageant, it is aimed at liberating and empowering the girl child by its well-composed course structure and activities for participants, especially the queen and her two princesses - Newsday.
