With 6-16 farms in the midst of such poverty yet he was so influential, what did he do to use his influence to ease the suffering of the masses?? The only lesson we can all learn from such deaths is that as much as we can be invincible to the downtrodden masses none of us can be invincible to the Almighty, our Creator. When He says its time up, like it or not we will leave behind all the earthly treasures acquired legitimately or illegitimately and we will be called to account for our earthly deeds. The sooner we realise that our human power is limited, the more we will probably learn to respect other human beings as worthy in the Eyes of the Lord. May his soul RIP

The way he died is very sad indeed especially burning in a house. I know the pain because I have relatives and friends the mother of my first child who was burnt to death after having been forced into the hut by Gukurahundists. He was indeed a freedom fighter whom we all respect as an individual but he belonged to a looting bunch of post independent murderers who just amassed whatever wealth they could to themselves and their children.

Gukurahundi! A lot of our relatives were burnt to death in their houses under his watchful eye. I dont know what his role was but what I know is he has always been an influential figure in Zimbabwean politics and surely if he was as ‘nice’ and as ‘good’ as most commentators here proclaim him to have been, he could have surely done something to avert those atrocities; You live by the sword, you die by the sword!

Thank you statrting the war of liberation in the 1960s ndoda. But what happened with the revolution was disaster after you left ZIPRA to join a tribal party.NOWWE NOT SURE if they have killed you also like Tongogara and others.I like the way you used to joke about you being ZIPRA AND LIBERATOR..but what happened during gukurahundi tarnished the image of a man that could have easily been respected thoughout Zim.Tribalism kills Zimbabwe and it will continue to do so.

So my bible does not lie. Live by the sword…….

What benefit does it bring to a man to spend a life of brutality and amass a lot of wealth, and yet die and leave all for the vultures to feed. GRASPING OF THE WIND.

Brethren, it it wise to live a charitable life and die a peacefully rewarding life as you will meet your Jesus in resurection.

Only God knows if the was any charitable conscience in Solomon Mujuru when Villagers of Tsholotsho died brutaly in their burning poor huts by the active hand of Gukurahundi.

All I am compelled to say is RIP Mr Mujuru.

  41. zenzo on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 9:57 pm

  42. Chaputika112 on Tue, 16th Aug 2011 10:01 pm

Another true hero just snatched away from us under mysterious circumstances as usual.Mujuru or Cde Rex Nhongo indeed is a true liberation hero and although I am not a Zanu Pf supporter, this man meant a lot to Zimbabweans from different political affiliations and today he is a victim of a ruthless regime I suppose, which thrives by eliminating potential power threats in broad daylight using all sorts of ruthless means.I still fail to come to terms with his death.I hope his wife will quit this bloody lot and move on to non politics business. How long is this gonna keep happening? Only God has an answer to this question. Rest In Peace Cde Nhongo. I just hope the old guards in Zanu Pf should now leave politics to the young generation, they no longer have any fresh ideas to help build the nation apart from witch hunting and murdering. What a shame.
