Mujuru’s blue-flames prove chemical meddling- Experts

As the Inquest into the death of the retired army general Solomon Mujuru continued, it emerged Tuesday that the flames that engulfed his body may have been well between 1700°C to 3000°Celcius, and the burning was caused by chemical meddling, according to experts.
This was reflected by the colour of the flame and also by the fact that the fire was not easily extinguished and actually became ferocious when water was applied to extinguish it.
Brought into the discussion was for instance a flame from an oxyacetylene torch which burns at over 3000°C, and which is actually hot enough to use for underwater welding. Another possible cause named were copper elements which when at melting point will be ferocious when water is applied.

Local Police officers who attended the death scene of the retired General Tuesday provided clues as they graphically described the last hours of Mujuru’s body which experts judging by the colour of the flames say could easily have been caused by special accelerants.
The officers had stated:
“At the time I got in the house and after a thorough search I discovered that there was a blue flame coming from the body. It was then that my Boss Inspector Dube ordered us to pour water on it so that it stops burning”,
“The body was still on fire and there were strange blue flames coming out of both sides of his abdomen and around the body.” – Constable Garisai
“Lungs and intestines were burnt extensively and the head was now just a skull,” said Inspector Dube who also stated he had seen “strange blue flames” coming from the general’s abdomen.
At the time of writing, the Zimbabwe Republic police was still upholding their official claim that the fire that killed Zimbabwe’s most revered army general was caused by a mere candle-flame.
But independent experts and analysts argue that the colour of any flame is automatically reflective of what kind of fire it is and exactly what caused it.
“Because each element has an exactly defined line emission spectrum, scientists are able to identify them by the color of flame they produce. For example, copper (and Arsenic) produce a blue flame, lithium and strontium a red flame, calcium an orange flame, sodium a yellow flame, and barium a green flame,” reads one website: Web Exhibits
Moreover, London based Bio-physicist, Martin Chinyanga told ZimEye the flame described by the two police officers before Mujuru’s inquest could have been Arsenic, Copper(I), Copper(II) (halide), Indium, or Lead.
Chinyanga who did his masters degree in Bio- Photonics at Lancaster University, however stated that the substance in or around Mujuru’s body is more likely to have been Arsenic or Copper(I). Arsenic is a pesticide which is usually used at farms.
“Elements such as copper require diesel or petrol in order for them to be ignited start burning.”
Chinyanga stated that the fact that the officers failed to put the fire out easily with water further confirms his belief since fuel powered fires require powder or sand rather than water to extinguish them.
“When your car goes on fire, you must not use water but rather sand or carbon powder.
“A fire that is caused by a fuel such as parafin, should be extinguished using carbon powder or sand,” said Chinyanga.

Mujuru’s body was like “a burning object”
During the inquest hearing to date, Mujuru’s body was described by several witnesses who used the phrase: ‘a burning object’ which had the blue flames.
Const Garisai as confirmed by Chinyanga’s find told the inquest that the flames became ferocious when the first buckets of water were applied.
Upon arrival after 20 to 25 minutes, people were using water to put out the fire.
“At the back of the house, people managed to identify a bluish flame. There was an object, which was burning. I peeped through the window and saw an object with folded hands . . . it was akin to a human body,” he said.
Asked where the bluish fire was emanating from, he said it came from the body and areas surrounding it, adding it was different from flames in other parts of the house.
The bluish fire reportedly covered the body and a portion of about 30cm from the body.
Garisai said they were instructed to douse the fire on the body and it took about 10 buckets to extinguish it.
He said upon pouring the first buckets of water, the flames became ferocious.
Seeing the new revelations coming form wtinesses, Martin Chinyaga has called for a relook at Mujuru’s body which he said must be exhumed for further forensic tests:
“They must exhume his body for us to see and re-test and see the chemicals that burnt his body. The elements do not demompose. They stay as they are”, said Chinyanga
Meanwhile the Mujuru family was reported to be faring that evidence has been tampered with.

  2. Now they believe @t ther z foul play bt ever since pre & post independence pple wher being murdered.Dis regime z controlled by Mafias&Gangstaz.we fled our communities due to these thugery activities. R I P Solomon.

  3. The blame lies squarely at Constantine Chiwenga’s doorstep as you will come to know. Of course nothing can be done about it.

  4. it’s true you need wax or twiggs to light a log .. the body of mujuru was ingested and feed with bags of fueling metals to help in the blast furnacing of his body. in the event of exhumation …forensic experts free from manipulation can help shed more light by identifying the chemicals that were used in the attempt to destroy evidence as well. why was the body burnt beyond recognition.. we need the DNA OF THE BODY TO ALSO PROVE IF IT IS THE GENERAL’S BODY.

  5. Gen.Mujuru death does not weaken only his faction but the whole of the party establishment.Apparently the Gen was the kingpin. Now we are left with murderous, thieving mafia-like gluttons whose only achievement is to undermine the party in pursuit of selfish ends!

  6. Let the truth come out. The nation must be satisfied that it was indeed an accident although this is proving to be very difficult.

  7. Chinyanga studied at bloody Lancaster? What a coincidence that they taught you at bloody Lancaster, bloody bloody bloody, Lancaster!

HARARE – Vice President Joice Mujuru is expected to testify this week in the
on-going inquest that resumes today at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts to
determine circumstances surrounding the death of her husband, Retired
    General Solomon Mujuru.
Twenty two more witnesses, including the Vice President, pathologists and
forensic experts from South Africa are expected to give evidence before
    regional magistrate Walter Chikwanha.
The presiding magistrate will then make a ruling determining what led to
Mujuru’s death and if there is anyone culpable then the magistrate will
order the police to open a criminal record or call for further
    investigations.
So far, 20 witnesses have testified in the high-profile court case, with two
of them saying they heard gunshots on the night Mujuru died further stoking
suspicions as to how the decorated general died.
Mujuru’s maid Rosemary Short and Clemence Runhare, a security guard, insist
they heard gunshots on the night Mujuru’s house was razed down by fire and
his charred remains were later found inside the house.
It is not clear if Mujuru died before the fire or during the fire, with
suspicion pointing fingers at a possibility that he was murdered.
But police details tasked to protect Mujuru denied everVP Mujuru to testify
hearing gunshots saying it was perhaps the sound from shattering asbestos
    sheets.
Obert Mark, Augustinos Chinyoka and Lazarus Handikatari are the three police
officers that were deployed to protect Mujuru.
Giving their evidence in court last week, Mark and Handikatari stunned the
Mujuru family and members of the public following the case when they
revealed that they were asleep when fire broke out at the general’s house.
This did not go down well with the Vice President, herself a trained
guerrilla war hero, who said it was “shocking” that the police officers
could conduct themselves in such a disgraceful manner.
“Taking circumstances in which this thing happened it is really shocking,
and you say to yourself is this how a person can discharge himself when he
is supposed to do his duties?” asked Mujuru.
Mujuru family lawyer Thakor Kewada from Scanlen and Holderness legal firm
told reporters last week after the adjournment of the inquest that his
client is likely to testify this week.
“We are expecting to have experts who include pathologists and forensic
specialists to testify this week,” said Kewada.
“She (Joice Mujuru) will be just assisting the court with information she
knows on what transpired during the fateful night when her husband died,”
    Kewada said.
The late retired general was reportedly leading a faction in Zanu PF
fighting to succeed the 87-year-old party leader President Robert Mugabe.
The retired general’s death is reported to have weakened the Mujuru faction.
Questioning witnesses in court last week, Kewada blasted police for
negligence saying they left Mujuru to die as they ran for three-and-half
kilometres to the farm compound looking for help to locate Mujuru’s bedroom
when they could have made an attempt to save his life.
Cross-examining one of Mujuru’s groundsman Tawanda Madondo, Kewada said it
would have been wiser for police officers to break any window of Mujuru’s
house to gain entry and rescue him than spending an hour running around
while his house was smouldering to ashes.
The court also heard from Short that Mujuru had frosty relations with the
police officers and at one time the late general considered firing them.
According to Short, Mujuru also strained relations with his police guards
that he advised her to look after herself instead of depending on the
    police.
Short also dispelled the assumption that a seven-centimetre candle could
have started the fire that led to the death of the decorated retired
    general.
The court also heard that keys for Mujuru’s vehicles are yet to be found and
that the late general was not alone when he entered his farm.
Short also told the court that Mujuru had a feeling that he was going to die
and wanted to sleep in the car the night he died.
Witnesses who testified also said retired general Mujuru’s vehicle was
parked at an unusual place and that he had uncharacteristically left
    groceries in an unlocked vehicle.
The inquest resumes today after adjourning on Friday.
Joel Mujuru, brother to the late retired general, said the inquest has so
far raised questions and also provided answers to the family. He hoped the
inquest will give the family closure.
“As a family we will sit down and go through testimonies given in court so
that we map the way forward,” said Joel Mujuru.

  9. I still say a military flame thrower was used to incinerate Mujuru. These weapons of destruction have come a long way since the last war. They are much cleaner and do not leave a residue behind and probably produce a considerable amount of heat.
Come on Bla Miki how about a comment!

  10. Kuboni and Nyasha, I agree with your observations but, one good thing about this inquest is that it is going to accelerate self destruction of ZANU and I think that’s what we have all been waiting for. Of course I wish all the other cases had been given the same attention. Captain Edwin Budani Nleya was to me, not only a comrade in arms but also a close friend and kinsman.

  11. Mati madiniko muchapera Mose chikwambo
Chakapinda mumusha. Did we hear Mujuru say a thing in 2008 Mugabe butchering our fellow citizens.Mukadzi wake ainge atori VP vanhu 500 vakurawa!

  12. Heb 4:13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

  13. the death of retired mujuru is never a surprise.here are points that show that if you leave by the gun you die the same way, *Rex Nhongo succeeded a decorated commander of ZANLA forces josiah tongogara who had died in similiar circumstances-tragically but with an underhand visible, *Rex Nhongo was an army general who presided the ZNA during the massacres of civilians in Matebeleland.the 5th bricade was formed outside the command structure of ZNA but as an army general then what did he do to stop the moment called “Madness” today?he knew what was going on & who the beneficiaries were? *Rex Nhongo witnessed the persecution of political enermies when he was at the helm reference joshua Nkomo, lookout masuku(died in incarcaretion),dumiso dabengwa & all traumatised ndebele people. *solomon mujuru with his loyalty ensured the ZANU (PF) patriach system survived that he presided over some army killings if u may remember captain nleya in hwange, benedict horomba & some senior ZANU (pf) and zapu officials who never saw daylight. *solomon mujuru high as he was,was husband to a long servin minister & now vice president to Mugabe.from here you can tell he had enough influence to line antics in (PF).the MDC like other political parties witnessed death, butcherings, abductions, arson, imprisonment, treason trials, torcher.this happened under the general’s nose & indeed his wife.in the MDC to think of talent mabika, chiminya, learnmore jongwe is heart rendering.in the student movement how about christopher chiminya?ZANU wasnt spared of these killings names that come to mind_border gezi, christopher ushehwokunze, moven mahachi, elliot manyika, solomon mujuru the list is long.the army, cio & business community witnessed their share.here are last points:the inquest is too early there is a waitin list, any person can be consumed by this system,u live by the gun u go the same way,the family z lucky got a body to bury.ZANU has overgrown yava ngozi

  14. I love to agree with Mavambo because before God all men are equal so why should some mysterious deaths be investigated more than others. Only resently hundreds of dead Zimbabweas were exhumed by non expects and no forensic tests were carried out.
I agree with the pastor that God will revenge if someone did it. How many loved ones are lying in unmarked graves throughout the country? How many national heroes of Mujuru’s mould or higher have died in suspicious circumstances? Think of Lookout Masuku, Mafuyana and even Nyagumbo or Malunga. If the inquest results have a potential of causing division lets leave everything to God just like we together with the Mujurus left Gukura to God.

  15. kuvhunduka chati kwatara hunge uine katurikwa…..munotyei kanapasina zvamunoziva ……makapisa vasingarove kwanzi ..mapurisa anodzivira kuparwa kwemhosva ….kana vari vemamwe mapato…..asi ku zanu vano chengetedza mhondi dzacho…zvino hameno….who is next……muchasara nanani mukapedzana…Chihuri taura tinzwe

  16. Arsenic is a deadly poison, it burns with a blue flame. A blue flame was observed coming from the general’s body.
I never heard of any forensic investigation on the general’s body, did someone test for these toxic elements, poisons, drugs etc? Bullets?
The general was poisoned and set alight, that blue flame and the ferocity of the fire is just too much of a coincidence! Starting from the sleeping guards, no airtime, speed of water-resistant fire, a charred body after a relatively short time and now this!
There are murderers in Zanu PF, apa nyoka yapinda mumba. We are watching the drama as this party of murderers kills itself from within

  17. Ndi………………….. ndozvitauraka. z dis a soap or saga. y dont u jus shot kafilm kacho.

  18. I disagree Mavambo. There is abudant evidence of fowl play here. Yes, many people have got away with murder before, but its high time justice has been exercised in Zim. We cannot continue acting like uncivilised people.

  19. My advice goes to the Mujuru family esp to Mai Mujuru.life is process and it is made up of the unexpected. Personally l think you need to drop the lnquest, we know you loved you husband very much ,but have ever heard how Moses died, even his wife does not see where he was buried or his body. TO me each person had his/her own way of going to be with the Lord, that was His and whether it rains dogs and cats you need to accept it. PEOPLE or witnesses may say thousand words, but the Word of God says all is vanity. Technically speaking we are praying for you to accept death. If l can tell you what l see through God’s eyes you may fail to believe me but ,the Truth remains,”just drop the issue ,leave it in the hands of God,if there was foul play Honourable will speak through his blood” In the Bible Abel was killed by Cain, but the Blood of Abel made a report to God who is our only revenger” Any of the Mujuru’s family who read this, you are also free to contact me for more spiritual help @ 0774766474. We were born to experience and see these mysteries.I HAVE been following your day by day lnquest and as a Pastor l can not cease to pray for you ,such that as a christian like me you will death without mere looking at how one dies. Beware of pumping out thousands of dollars, only to come out with nothing. THERE are some people who are appearing to you as advisors, and they daily encourage you our Honourable President to keep on investigating the issue but in their inner hearts they are up for your money. Open your eyes Mai Mujuru,we love you and you have tried your best.

  20. Human beings are capable of complicating otherwise very simple issues. Mai Mujuru simply wants to know what really happened to her late husband; the nation also wants a simple explanation. We’re all getting more and more confused as the inquest wears on.
I see some experts already suggesting exhumation and all such things. Why did this not happen before his interment at the National Heroes Acre? Let the revered late general rest in peace please! It’s really un-African to continue tempering with the dead. Why is it difficult to believe that the ordinary happened? We have many people who died in infernos but people just left it at that – fire accidents. Now general Mujuru has become so un-burnable that we think he has to be exhumed and be “un-burnt’!
Of course, we can’t completely rule out foul play but ‘un-earthing’ our hero is not the way. What if nothing sinister is confirmed after the exhumation? What if it’s confirmed that indeed he was shot before burning? If fouls play is suspected, we can still use available evidence to hunt down the culprit(s).
History tells us many people got away with murder. Some roaming our streets today are with heavy loads of guilt; some in prison today are innocent people wrongly accused. Let the inquest finish and the experts come up with a conclusion. Am simply saying we also need sobriety and be open to a possibility that the simple could also have happened. That is, our beloved general could also have died naturally.
