Zimbabwe’s Justice Minister, Patrick Chinamasa, has defended the country’s land re-distribution program and confessed ignorance on the amount of land President Robert Mugabe and wife Grace currently own.

Patrick Chinamasa Justice Minister on BBC HARDtalk

Speaking on BBC’s HARDtalk on April 4 the Justice Minister said that land re-distribution program is not complete yet and the acquired land is earmarked for indigenous blacks only and not ‘indigenous whites’ as it is colour sensitive.
BBC HARDtalk presenter Allan Sukur pressed the Justice minister on the issue of land being distributed on  racial lines and failing to recognize whites as Zimbabwean people but the Justice minister unequivocally stressed that indigenous applied to blacks only and that land redistribution is a necessity that has to be completed on racial lines to put right a previous racial injustice in the distributing of land.
Minister Chinamasa said when it comes to land redistribution the notion that “justice is colour blind” does not apply .
“When it comes to the question of land, as you know ownership was racial for over a century and blacks were not allowed to own land. It was racial skewed to whites and in attacking the land question you would be perceived as attacking race,”said Chinamasa.
Chinamasa who defended the land program and his position as a benefactor of an 800 Hectare farm grabbed from Richard Yates, a white farmer, who now lives in Australia, failed to give detail on the number of farms owned by Mugabe and Grace despite a government call on restricting multiple farm ownership. Chinamasa himself admitted to owning 600Hectares.
When asked if he agreed with war veterans leader Jabulani Sibanda’s statement ‘that it is illogical for individuals in my country to own excessive amounts of land’, Chinamasa said, ‘Yes, I agree’. When asked how much land president Mugabe and his wife and family owned, the honourable minister replied, “To be honest I don’t know, but…..but… for most of the land that he occupies ..for instance they are running foundations for children.”
It  was revealed that Robert Mugabe owns 16,000hectares of land. The minister was caught defenseless and when it was put to him that a few individuals have managed to amass huge tracts of land he accused the British of not questioning a similar status quo when the land was in the hands of a few whites.
“Listen you were not complaining in those years when 15 million (hectares) was owned by those 4 000 whites,” said the defenseless and pointless minister  as he failed to justify the excess land owned by President Mugabe and his inner circle. Mr Chinamasa revealed that 11million hectares was acquired for land redistribution. Allan Sukur pointed out that of this 11million hectares, close to 6million hectares is owned by just 2000 individuals aligned to Zanu-PF.
Chinamasa accused Britain of deliberately twisting a genuine land disagreement  between the two countries into a human rights abuses issue to tarnish the image of Zimbabwe into to pursue and effect a “regime change agenda” in Zimbabwe.
“Basically our quarrel with the British was on land issue, but they mis-characterised it as human rights violation in order to give us a bad name,”said Chinamasa.

  1. Well Chando you need to get out that wet dream where you wake up every morning soiled in man juices for a change.

  2. @Chando kupusa land distribution was highjacked by Zanu. Zanu’s agenda was the communist model B farms like Bhuma Bamara, Shandisayi pfungwa etc. Zanu had no single clue of the disaster this had to its image. Land grab was a populist approach after Zanu was defeated in the jonathan moyo referendum. The MDC was used as a campaign tool, filled with hate speeches zanu stumbled badl, fortunately progressive Zimbabweans dont buy that crap. Zanu tried the sanction mantra and fell badly by now they singing the Chimurenga blues. Cheap propaganda will lead zanu to its final burial place Matopo hills.

  3. At the height of land redistribution Chematama is well known for having said and i quote”Vanhu varikungomera sebhowa pese pese, tichazvirivesa kana tavakutonga” quote. His then secretary of Education Fidelis Mhashu had this to say “Once we are in power we will hand back the farms to “their white owners” quote. Those who dare to remember soon after the 2008 elections Tendai M*b**i *%t**i became chief elections officer for MDC(T) and took it upon himself to give false results where he purported that MDC(T) had won and in no time there was such a huge influx of whites in Zimbabwe who were coming to demand back “their farms” as promised by MDC(T).So no one is going to fool us into believing this trash of saying the land distribution was the idea of MDC(T). They have been opposed to it and are still opposed to it.

  4. Its not just the land re distribution, but even this indigenisation programme is another of the many mdc-T brainchildren. These i deas are stolen when those overzeoulous scandalous thugs masquarading as policemen forcefully invade our offices without search warrants. The most recent one being the one Mrs Mtetwa stopped, I wonder which idea of ours were they going to loot this time around.

  5. Mbamadog, you should have known from the begining that land land is for Zimbabweans regardless of political affiliation and should have applied for your own farms like what the open minded Prof Welsh Ncube did. You shouldn’t have listerned to your short sighted leader Tsvangidog who kept on discouraging you from getting land. President Mugabe can own as much land as possible because he faught for it and rightly earned it.

  6. The more idiots call ZPF idiot and show open hatred towards land reform then the idiots like the 6KG brigadier who benefited from a land reform when they are against it realise that they are safe under ZPF and an uhuru will be repeated in Zim.
Kikiki, and the Odinga guy is just as dull as one leader of a puppet party whose slogan is chinja and whose members spend most of their time taking penis enlargment tablets and are opposed to land reform because they miss working in large factories that are controlled by whyte.

  7. Anyone with a bit of intelligence that so rare in the MDC-Tea hierachy knows that I admire Bla Miki’s stance when it comes to the land question. The man so unimbigous and unwavering in his stance as regards the rights of the blackman to his heritage.
Miki is saying the truth the MDC-T advised its followers to desist from taking part in the land distribution programmes because that would have offended its handlers. It is a lie that ZPF incited the populace to rise against the master farmers and master land owners, but the fat cats in ZPF were reminded by the populace of what the strugle was all about.
President Mugabe did not need land reform in order to own one or two farms because he could easily have bought his own land through a free loan from the imperialist in exchange for betrayal. It was the povo who needed land reform and most of that povo have improved their lives ten fold.
Rome was not built in one day, MDC-T members will soon get the jobs they want from those who reposessed their land. Let me go and check my heard of cattle that I believe in two years time will be as big as Mr Stumbles herd, kikikikiki. The Greydog can spell the word herd correctly but he does not have it in sharp contrast with Jumpdaki who cant write correct english yet he has a heard of cattle kikikii. P.S did I tell those who decided to become refugees on behalf of Whytes such as the Greydonkey that I now use semen from the US on my best cows? Yes I am doing it right here in Zim and give me just two or just three years I will be somewhere and telling everyone who cares to listen that I am Jumpdaki.
Mukadota Chombo’s wives also managed to have two farms each because you did not to claim yours. Now we will only offer you empoyment since you speak good english.

  8. Zanu Pf does not represent the majority of Zimbabweans who happen to be in the MDC. It is upto us the majority to take land from the greedy and corrupt Zanu Pf leaders who use the blood lost during the struggle for personal gains. Non but ourselves can liberate
Ourselves from the rampant and corrupt Zanu Pf leaders.

  9. Basing on his perfomance on bbc hardtalk Chinanamasa cannot be a lawyer by any standard.what a pathetic old goon.He didnt only embarass his zanu pf malcontents,no,but the entire nation which boast a 95% literacy rate.People let us not boast to the world about our education because we cant articulate issues factually to support our claims.Chinamasa pliiiiiiiiiz!

  10. Hey fvckwit Bla Miki how many farms does Mugabe have?…….How about the gay gangster Tyson Kasukuwere?…..How about that thieving ali baba bastard Chombo, I bet each of his several wives have a farm each. This noble idea that could have possibly put back pride into true African ideals of liberation and independence on the continent has left us with an egg on the face. We are just a lot open to ridicule and always at the butt end of jokes….thanks to zanoid baboons. No wonder why these baboons are refusing a land audit for it exposes these great pretenders for who they really are.

  11. An idea stolen from the MDC T? My foot, what a foolish lie? Your gay leader Tsvangigodzva ran away from partaking in the struggle, to regain our country and our land. He instead believed and still does so, that a blackman should always work for a whiteman as evidenced by choosing to serve tea at trojan and the JUICE respectively. During the land reform program, many MDC T were left out due to the fact that Tsvangirai discauraged them, saying land will be taken back to whites. He even tried to influence settlers not to build permanent structures on farms. Yes, Zanu Pf and other neutrals took the land and whose fault is it not to have MDC T on farms?

  12. I cant help but laugh when i hear Zanoids creating the impression that they are the Godfathers of the land reform and that itself it is their brain child.Zanu pF owns no land and the reason why such a noble idea got wrecked in the first place its because it wasnt their idea, its a stolen idea that they stole from the mdc-T, a classic example is when my gardener steals my keys and gets access to my sophisticated BMW cs, definately he can wreck and crash it because he doesnt know how to operate it, Zanoids failed to operate the land reform idea because its an idea they stole from the mdc-T, that is why when we do our redistribution and audits in 2014 zimbabweans of all race and tribes will realise and experience what real reform is like.

  13. as a senior medical/army officer i own a cool 1050 ha farm simply on the assumption that my high rank in the army implies im a zanoid. Its true that when it came to ressettlement it followed a racial trend but that wasnt enough , it also followed a party line, i know hundreds of capable blacks who were denied land for being suspcted to be linked to the biggest party in the land mdc-T(may God bless them).I urge Mr Tsvangirai(may God grant him a long life) to redress this imbalance and make sure Zimbabwes of all races, tribes, political affiliations, religious oriantation equally benefit from this land. His main target should be that 6 million ha looted by the 2000 zanoids, it should be put under a sane and sound redistribution.

  14. I support Chinamasa. Let us have our land. We are the natives. We deserve better. No where else can we exercise this right.

  15. This zanoid baboon was going ape shyte…..kikikii…why the yelling ayaz ini zvangu. Donkey brains Patsy Pat even thinks he is at a zanoo rally….ehhh regime change…ehh Zimbabwe will never be a colonial again……eeeh sanshions…this guy is ace true rock diesel brained idiot. He kills me when he is asked about how much land Mugabe has…..heheheehe…. vanhu vezanoo hamuna kukwana.

  16. Zanoo pee eff in their twisted myopic mind believe that they have the God given right to hold the people of Zimbabwe hostage. The politics of entitlement, the corrosive practices of corruption, patronage, criminal abuse of office and unlawful killings all point to a zanoo party devoid of humanity, sanity and moral value. When one person owns more half of the land designated for redistribution then that person is no different from the greedy settler who stole that land in the first place.

  17. Land is an important factor to Zimbabweans yes those who believe in colour especially european racists have no place in Zimbabwe. What should be clear to Zanu land is not for zanu pf supporters only ndo pamuoirasa madinga we will move those who think land belongs to zanu only.
