LOCAL-NATIONAL-in-the-news---NATIONAL--LOCAL---strip(Harare)The long-awaited report from a police investigation on allegations of the murder of Munashe Banda, a 13 year old boy at Prince Edward High school, has been completed and is now under the scrutiny of Minister David Coltart and other senior officials.
13 year old Munashe Banda was found dead with his body floating in a swimming pool at Prince Edward School, one of Zimbabwe’s most prestigious government schools.
A senior staff member in Coltart’s office confirmed to ZimEye about the completion of the report adding that it would only be made avaliable to the public after the official review of the facts and police conclusions on what exactly transpired. In any case family members would have that option either to have the information shared with the nation or request a respect for their privacy.
According to Minister Coltart’s office, the Education ministry has to date received a number of complaints about Prince Edward School. “Some of these came through the radio,” the official said..
A separate investigation was at the time of writing being conducted by the police.
In brief, unconfirmed commentaries on this issue have pointed to bullying as the probable cause of the Munashe’s death. This assertion has however been dismissed by the School Headmaster, Mr. Agrippa Sora, see:  Headmaster dismisses murder rumours at Prince Edward High School. ZimEye will update readers when the report is finally released to the public.

  1. BULLYING ITS EVERYWHERE WHETHER MIXED SCHOOL OR NOT MIXED. NO SCHOOL CAN FINISH THAT ZVIMWE ZVINODA MWARI NEMUBEREKI WEMWANA. THE HEADMASTER CAN ONLY SUSPEND THE BULLY BUT CAN NOT FINISH THE BULLINESS IN THEM, LETS NOT POINT FINGERS ALL WE NEED TO DO IS TALK TO OUR KIDS FULLY. CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. LETS TELL OUR KIDS TO BE OPEN TO US AND TELL US OF ANY ABUSE IN SCHOOLS. ITS SO PAINFUL TO PARENTS AKAURAIRWA MWANA NEAKAURAYA WACHO NO PARENTS WANT A BAD CHILD

  2. Wakaendako riini, du.zvi remhunhu iwe Tsano? Isu taiveko during the days of Mr.Tesva (the militant boarding master) in the late 70’s, thats why I am wondering how bullying is still taking place in some schools. Wakanga usati wazvarwa, saka bvunza daddy.

  3. Iwe Newman kumusha kure. KwaChiundura kwanga kusina izvozvo patakaendako isusu. [Words deleted: Discriminatory] kufugura.hapwa pavanhu

  4. I remember the following bullies at St. Patricks in Chiwundura, Isaac Shara, Polite Photo, Naphtali Makawa, Anthony Kadoza and one dirty Andrew Kanyemba. They would ask form one victims to make Koro water for them and bring it to their hostel with buttered bread, all funded by the poor victim. I want them to know that half of the koro was actually from the toilet chamber. Funny there was no cholera those days. I thot this bullying thing was a thing of the past. Actually the authorities, especially boarding masters , quietly approved bullying and luckily no one died during our days.

  5. Bla Miki, I think Papa Wemba means that it is a bad habit to register (vanoiswa) kids at school with both sexes. You how how it is with Samanyika with the way they mix english and chimanyika (pamixed). (vanoiswa) does not mean being sexed as most zezurus would say.
