Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s ‘in-law’ relation from his traditional ‘marriage’ with ZANU PF businesswoman Locadia Tembo caused a scene in parliament house yeterday.
As ZANU PF MPs in the august house chanted loudly to Tsvangirai: ““Our son in law has come!,” Ms Tembo’s sister who is the Goromonzi legislator Biata Beatrice Nyamupinga soon stalked into the house and went straight to the aisle where Tsvangirai was sitting.
Just as the ZANU PF MPs shouted:
““Welcome sister-in-law!,” Ms Nyamupinga took determined steps towards Tsvangirai and within the space of about 36 seconds performed the African knee-bending procession in the eyes of everyone. The whole house went into sudden noises of laughter and rapturous applause.
Since Monday night when the news broke of Tsvangirai’s alleged marriage, the MDC-T party has consistently denied that there had been any marriage involving Tsvangirai and Tembo while also dismissing the claim that he had paid $36 000 lobola.
Claims that Tsvangirai visited the Mazoe home on Monday afternoon have been vigorously denied, and the PM’s personal confidant Ian Mokone told ZimEye that Tsvangirai was in the office at the time he is reported by the state media to have visited his alleged inlaws.
Reports that emerged after the alleged Monday marriage ceremony were that Tsvangirai only paid damages amounting to $10 000 for having impregnated the woman. It is now widely believed that the Tsvangirai marriage media reports were written out of deep political ambition.

I am shocked to hear people talk of “Tsvangirai’s privacy”. Madoda the Prime Minister is not a private citizen.He must account for every turn of his journey. He must be an example of good behaviour. And ukumithisa akulasithunzi especially for an over 50.
