The United States Ambassador David Bruce Wharton has dismissed a recent story that stated a secret meeting with two unnamed ZANU PF officials.
“Nothing secret about it,” Wharton said of the meeting.
“I also met with journalists, leaders of MDC-T, students, politicians, business people, and civil society leaders. If your reporters would like an interview with me or someone else from the US embassy, please have them contact our press and public affairs office,” he told ZimEye.
Wharton had announced meeting two ZANU PF officials last week Thursday.
“On the 27th (December) I had a breakfast meeting with two Zanu PF stalwarts. Very smart, progressive patriots interested in looking ahead, not backwards,” he said without naming the officials which triggered several comments as various analysts hinted that the ZANU PF officials cannot be trusted.
